Huge! Arsenal Now Favorites To Sign 17m Rated La Liga Striker This Summer

Arsenal are closing in on a deal for the Deportivo striker Lucas Perez, according to El Confidential.  The Gunners willing to pay the £17m release clause for the striker, are set to seal the deal for the forward before the close of the transfer market. The Toffees were also interested in the Spaniard, and were favorites to sign him. However, a late bid from Arsenal came in moments before the terms were met with Everton. It is believed that Perez is leaning towards the Gunners’ offer with the prospects of playing Champions league football.

The Spain international scored 17 goals and assisted 8 times in 36 appearances last season for Deportivo. He can play as a central striker or even on the wings and is considered to be very quick.

Wenger has been left frustrated having failed to sign a number of transfer targets this summer. Perez close to an agreement with the Gunners will certainly steady the nerves of the Frenchmen.

There was an insurmountable pressure building on the Arsenal boss from the fans for not signing new players. However, this signing will not excite a lot of Arsenal fans as the Spaniard is not a well known entity.

The addition of Perez will bolster up the Gunners attack and ease some stress off Giroud in the final third, with the Frenchman failing to carry the burden of scoring goals right till the end, in the previous campaign. However, will this signing be enough to bring the EPL glory back to the Emirates?? Have your say in the comments section below.
