Why Arda Turan Should Have Left Barcelona For Arsenal This Summer

Arda Turan made a positive start to the new campaign with a few goals and will want to take that into the season forward. He would hope that Barcelona manager Luis Enrique would give him more game time and utilize his services, not just to compliment the first choice attackers as a substitute, but on a more regular basis.

However, it seems that will be quite tough for the Barca boss, as it is nearly impossible for him to drop the likes of Messi, Suarez and Neymar.

There was an interest from Premier League outfit Arsenal for his services this summer and he probably should have made the switch to the Emirates.

Here are three reasons why Turan should have gone to north London when he had the chance:

1. He won’t be a first choice for Luis Enrique:

Turan played amazingly in the pre-season and in the supercopa and in the liga too since Neymar Jr abbsence. Arda Turan as we all know would not start games for the Blaugrana once Neymar JR arrives. The Turk international gave impressive performances and he has played as a false winger and played with more freedom and confidence which was missing in him last season. Altough Barcelona have gone ahead and bought in another attacker Paco Alcacer from Valencia which in my opinion was not needed at all Arda would have complemented the Trio (MSN) beautifully and perfectly just as Pedro Rodriguez did in the treble winning season of 2014/2015 and he would slot in easily for any of the three superstars and with Paco coming in Arda will face more competition to start games now for the Catalans.

2. New Signings:

Barcelona Have made Huge Efforts and have spent big to reinforce their squad, They have Strengthened the defensive area the Midfield and have bought in a 4th forward too. Paco Alcacer was roped in for €30 million from League Rivals Valencia CF. The young Spanish striker was bought in to play as a second fiddle for Luis Suarez. This signing will also give competion to Arda turan for a spot,  Turan’s starting chances will already be cut short once Neymar Jr rejoins the squad this month.

3. Not really a fan favourite:

To be honest the Turk international should have left this season ( Arsenal) as he knows the competition he will be facing too start, With another attacker too coming in. Arda has showed a very poor form in his first season with the Blaugrana and played only 11 games for them last season and missed 6 months one of the reason his form dipped because of the transfer ban Barcelona faced due to violating transfers rules.  Turan would have featured regularly for Arsene Wenger’s side and has a better physical shape to play in the premier league.
