Chelsea made the trip to the Liberty Stadium, as they looked to continue their winning streak in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, after securing wins in the opening three fixtures. The Blues were hopeful that they could keep their winning momentum going despite some narrow encounters.
However, it was not meant to be the case. Though the visitors took the lead in the first half from a spectacular Diego Costa goal in the 18th minute as the Spanish international scored with an over-head kick, they were unable to hold on to the lead. The first half did not see any more goals and the away side took the advantage into the break.
The hosts started off the second period in more confident fashion, as they equalized in the 59th minute through a Sigurdsson goal and took the lead three minutes later from a finish by Fer.
Both keepers had to make some good saves to keep their teams in the match and it was eventually Costa that once again put one into the back of the net to make it 2-2 in the 81st minute.
The game produced four goals, two a side and both teams eventually took home a share of the spoils, as neither could find a winning goal after 90 minutes and stoppage time being played.
The point meant that the west London outfit lost the opportunity to go on top of the table, with City leading the charts at the moment, though this is just the start.
