Update On Skipper John Terry’s Ankle Injury, As Chelsea Prepare For Liverpool Clash

It has now been confirmed that skipper John Terry will miss Chelsea’s clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this weekend. The Blues’ centre-back hurt his ankle during the 2-2 draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium and will be unavailable for the next 10 days, which will be a huge disappointment for the fans.

After the draw, the veteran defender left the stadium on crutches and a scan on Monday further revealed that the 35 year old former England international will now miss Friday’s match against Liverpool at home.

After the game concluded on Saturday, manager Antonio Conte spoke to the press and had stated, “I don’t know the extent of the injury but tomorrow we will see the situation about his ankle. But he is a warrior. I am not worried.”

With the defensive superstar out of action, the west London outfit will now grant Brazilian defender David Luiz his second ‘debut’ for them, after the star returned to Stamford Bridge from Ligue 1 champions Paris St-Germain in the summer transfer window.

Whether or not, Luiz can live up to the expectations of the fans and the new boss, remains to be seen. It will be a highly anticipated encounter, with both teams looking to secure all three points on the night.

Terry’s experience at the back will surely be missed against the club’s fierce rivals, though the former champions of England will be hoping that their deadline day signing is worth his hyped return to England.
