Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been given an advice that might help his team to perform better and win some titles in the days to come, by former skipper of the Reds and legend Steven Gerrard. The former England international, who was impressive for the Kop side in a recent game against legends from Real Madrid, made this suggestion for the German manager, whose team have been struggling for consistency.
Gerrard has suggested that Klopp should add one player in particular, who will lift his team to the level of champions and help them win silverware.
The star being recommended is Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has impressed in the seasons that have gone by and was being chased by a lot of top teams.
The attacker who netted a sensational hat-trick against Benfica in the Champions League and has impressed recently, was wanted by a long list of clubs back in the summer.
Despite that, the Bundesliga giants have managed to hold on to him thus far, though Gerrard now wants Liverpool to sign the 27 year old Gabon international.
In an interview with Gary Lineker on BT Sport, when asked if Aubameyang was the kind of player that he would like to see up front at Anfield, he said, “Yeah, but if he’s in this type of form he’ll alert a lot of clubs not just Liverpool.”
“He attacks the frame all the time, and he gets tap-ins because of his movement.”
The Kop boss still has a lot of work to do on his team in order to win some titles, though his side lost in the finals of the League Cup and the Europa League last term.
Whether he takes heed to this advice or not and acts accordingly, remains to be seen.
