Hector Bellerin is surely a wanted man and though the level of his performances have started to fade over the past few months, his demand hasn’t. He has been in the news, as the reigning champions of Spain are trying their best to sign him and bring him to the Nou Camp, with stories about Barcelona’s interest going around for quite some time now.
On the other hand, Arsenal’s struggles along with Arsene Wenger’s plans for renewing his contract and staying on, have also overshadowed this news at times.
The Spaniard was said to be set for a return to Barcelona, though there has been no confirmation of the same, with the Londoners looking to hold on to him.
After fading away from the Premier League title race and being knocked out of the Champions League, things have been a mess for Wenger and his team and it seems that they might not make it to the top four this term.
This is something that the Catalan club would want to capitalize on, in order to push through a deal as soon as possible.
Barca themselves were beaten by Juventus and eliminated from Europe’s top cup competition and are still trying to catch Real Madrid in La Liga. They too will want to strengthen their team soon and the right-back could be a pretty useful addition.
However, Wenger stated that Bellerin has an “unbelievable” amount of time left on his contract at the Emirates and laughingly stated that the defensive superstar is going nowhere, in the near future.
Finally a positive news for the fans, who have mostly been disappointed this season once again, due to the results that their team have secured. Despite that, in the world of football, nothing is certain!!
