Arsenal might end up losing on a Champions League spot for the first time since Arsene Wenger took over at the club. The Gunners have not been in the best of form, till now and have struggled for consistency right through. Many of their top players have failed to perform and one such player has been defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin.
The French manager and his team have been getting the stick from the fans for below par performances at times, which has led to a disappointing campaign in the league and Champions League.
The FA Cup final will be the only chance that the north London outfit will have at winning a title, if they can beat the newly crowned champions of England, Chelsea.
However, it seems that once the season is done, the French manager will look to replace Coquelin with a player, who has also been on the radar of Liverpool as well.
The man in the spotlight is Naby Keita, who is currently with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig and can be an asset to both the clubs, if he does move to England.
Wenger is in need of more midfield reinforcements, after his players did not perform well, which Jurgen Klopp on the other hand will need insurance for the upcoming campaign too, with injuries hampering his team’s performance too.
Titles have been hard to come for the English duo and there is a definite need for change, if they wish to deliver in the future seasons.
The Emirates has still seen FA Cup glory in recent times, while the Merseyside outfit lost a couple of finals last term.
A report further adds that the German side have demanded £26m for the player’s services and it will be interesting to see which club reacts first and completes a move.
