With England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain entering the final year of his current deal at the Emirates, there is a lot of demand for the Arsenal winger, who has seen his share of ups and downs with the Gunners. He has lacked consistency and has been in and out of Arsene Wenger’s playing eleven, over the years. The French manager has had his set of players, who have been higher up the pecking order at times and the lack of fitness has also frustrated the attacker.
However, that has not stopped various contenders for the star’s services to try their luck at signing him now, knowing that the north London outfit can’t offer him the chance to play in the Champions League, this term.
Already, the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City have been trying their best to add him to their ranks, as they look to sign more options up front.
Well, it seems now that they may face some more competition in their ambitions to make the 23 year old star, their priced possession.
The champions of England, Chelsea, have now decided to join in on the race to sign the English star, who has looked unsettled at the Emirates in recent times.
Wenger failed to offer this high quality player, enough action on the pitch and as the time on the sidelines started adding up, his frustration started taking a toll.
The only thing that might help the French boss retain his star at the club, could be their FA Cup triumph against the Blues, though with all the three sides, playing in Europe’s top cup competition, the challenge to keep hold of him will be quite tough.
