In a recent report, it has now been confirmed that Premier League giants Liverpool are trying to wrap up talks with AS Roma, for winger Mohamed Salah. The attacker is wanted by manager Jurgen Klopp and his team, as they look to win more silverware in the upcoming season, after securing a Champions League spot in the last.
A top four finish would have given the German manager and his side, some much needed confidence and they must now be feeling that they can win some major titles, next term.
Talks are at present being led by the Reds’ sporting director Michael Edwards, as they try to make the winger their second signing of the summer transfer window.
Liverpool initially were willing to pay a fee of £28m, though the Serie A side wanted about £40m for their priced possession.
However, it seems now that there might be a compromise between the two European giants, which might see the attacker move back to England for a fee of approximately £35m.
All the English giants are quite desperate to add more quality to their current squads and it seems that Liverpool do not want to lag behind in the race.
Salah is currently on holiday in Egypt and could possibly become the club’s record-breaking purchase, if the Kops are forced to pay such a higher fee.
The former Chelsea star managed a tally of 19 goals for the Romans, in all competitions and has already tasted some action in the top flight of English football previously.
