Arsenal Superstar Given Lifeline To Save Career, As Gunners Willing To Let Go

The Hard Choice-

How cruel can one possibly be to Jack Wilshere? The Arsenal prodigy was once named as the ‘next big thing’ to carry English football on his shoulders, when the greats like Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard retired from the international level. However, the injuries that he has suffered in the recent seasons that have gone by, along with a combination of poor form, have been probably the most highlighted features of his career so far.
Having started off his adolescent stage with the Gunners almost a decade ago, Wilshere went on to catch the eye of many around England with his performances in the centre of the pitch.
He was the youngest ever debutant for his club at 16 years and 256 days and soon he also made his debut for the senior national team at the age of 18 where he showed signs of a significant talent at in hand.
During his time at Arsenal, Wilshere potential has been restricted due to his constant suffering from long-term injuries, as he made just 104 appearances at the Emirates spending most of his time in the rehabilitation centre. His injuries have led to his downfall in terms of losing his place in Arsenal’s first team squad.
To get through a few testing times before he could re-join the Arsenal side, Wilshere was sent on loan to Bournemouth last season, to get a grip of regular football, to show his parent club that he still had the passing and vision he once showed a long time ago.
At the Vitality, Wilshere had a rather underwhelming term although making 29 appearances for the Cherries. But a clash in April with Tottenham’s Harry Kane left Wilshere with a fractured fibula and another lengthy term on the side-lines awaited him.
Amid all these problems, Wenger has stated that Wilshere could remain at the Emirates for the upcoming campaign, if a deal did not work out, though it would be tough to guarantee him sufficient amount of playing time.
The 25 year old Arsenal youth product has drawn interest from Serie A outfit Sampdoria despite his injury concerns, but the north London side know how valued and highly rated Wilshere is and are keen to get him back to the Emirates.
Latest Offer-
Another club that is now looking to sign the 25 year old England international is Antalyaspor, a club from Turkey. The club is interested in signing the midfield superstar, though might not be able to match up to the asking price that the Premier League giants are demanding.
Wilshere will not want to leave England and move away to a foreign country, as it might hamper his chances of playing for The Three Lions in the days to come.
It will be interesting to see what happens now, as Wenger will have to make the tough choice, whether to hold on to his star or let him go.
