Move Complete-
The north London club have probably been the most interesting club in the Premier League so far in terms of transfer rumors and business to be done, which has been a good thing so far. The Gunners have been linked with many top players this season, after failing to qualify for the Champions League, as Wenger now looks to reshuffle his squad. In addition to players coming in, quite a few stars have been linked with a move away from the Emirates as well.
Most recently Arsenal defender Marc Bola has been sent out on loan to League One side Bristol Rovers for one season.
The deal was finalized this week as the 19 year old left-back was targeted and recruited by Bristol Rovers for the 2017-18 season.
Bola spent last season out on loan at Notts County where he made 13 appearances for the club and impressed in the short while that he was there.
The Englishman signed for Arsenal last year as he was a product of the Gunners’ Hale End academy coming through the ranks.
Bola was named on the bench for Arsenal last term in the League Cup fixtures against Southampton and Reading but is still to make an appearance for the London team.
This will be a good opportunity to nurture a footballer of his ability to test him against lower league opponents than to give him the grand stage in the first place.
Despite that, Bola’s chances of getting a first team cap were limited by the passing day at Arsenal, with Cohen Bramall making most of the impression on the Arsenal scouts in the first team.
Bramall is currently training with the senior squad, gearing up for the pre-season in Australia at the moment.
Bola’s departure for Bristol City which directly means that Bramall will now be the first choice left-back for Arsenal at the U-23 level.
Many other players are expected to leave Arsenal a fortnight after the Premier League season begins as the transfer closes at the end of next month.
The Debate Continues-
Well, it’s safe to say that the debate will not end that easy. Whether the top teams should play their “young guns” more often or just stick to the “big money” stars, who will win them major titles.
Arsenal was always the club that would encourage its youngsters to perform at the top level and grow into big stars, though it seems with the fan’s criticism towards Wenger and the management for not spending big, that ship has sailed now.
Another player out on loan now and it will be interesting to see what happens next and whether or not he can make a name for himself to earn a first team spot in the future.
