Deal Done :
Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has signed for his boyhood club Everton, with the England international looking for regular game time, in an attempt to get something more out of his career, as a player. The 30 year old superstar was looking for a new avenue to revive himself, as he looked to be part of The Three Lions’ first team on a more regular basis.
Rooney wanted to get more first team football, after falling down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho and has now made a move back to Goodison Park, the place where it all began.
The Englishman spent 13 years at Old Trafford and won various titles with the Red Devils, which eventually saw him become the skipper of their team.
However, he slowly lost his place to the young guns of the club and was now being used quite miserly.
This would have made him dissatisfied and he has decided to find a new destination to play more football and what better than his boyhood club.
Rooney was a natural born leader and still has the fire within him to lift a side, though with age one does surely become a different player.
In recent times, he had developed from a proper striker, into more of a play-maker and had moved into midfield that being upfront.
The United squad has many young stars like Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who can now take charge and hopefully Rooney does end his career well.
The only positive for the veteran star is that he will still be in England and though the fans will miss him, they will want the best for him in the days to come.
What next for Rooney?
Everton might not be as big a club as the Manchester based side, yet, there is a lot of scope for them under Ronald Koeman and the Toffees would want to make full use of this high quality star and his services. The Dutch manager will hope that having such an addition might propel his team into a Champions League spot in the days to come.
Maybe that is one target that Rooney will have on his mind as well, as he looks to win the hearts of the Merseyside club’s faithful. It will be an interesting season to watch out for, with things stirring up so much, in the current transfer window.
First, it was John Terry who left Chelsea and now Rooney. The transfer market never stops surprising the fans across the globe, now does it.
Manchester United without Rooney :
The Theatre of Dreams will never be the same without their beloved skipper, though he has given as much as he could for the club and the fans. He has won multiple awards and was even made the skipper of the national side, during his time with the club.
He has played with legends like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes and even players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Patrice Evra and many others, who might have themselves known what it feels to leave the club that they love so much. Cheers to a great career for the talisman.
