Pogba’s Request-
Jose Mourinho may consider it to be a real motivation for signing Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain after ace midfielder Paul Pogba has reported he would like to see the right-back at Manchester United. The Ivory Coast defender may see his game-time limited next season after Dani Alves’ arrival from Juventus was confirmed earlier this month. Aurier seemed to have a fall-out with PSG boss Unai Emery last season and has reported he wants a move away from the Parisians.
This news comes as a big hint for other clubs to swoop the 24 year old and Pogba is keen on Aurier joining him at Old Trafford next season.
According to news outlets, PSG manager Unai Emery spoke to Aurier and was quoted as saying, “I spoke with Serge to tell him that I wanted him to stay. He told me that he wants to leave and he preferred staying in Paris to prepare for his departure.”
Should Aurier leave the Parc De Princes, Pogba’s words could surely effect where he decides to leave. Pogba has also played a key role in convincing good friend Romelu Lukaku in joining the Red Devils to reject Chelsea.
Aurier is known to be a powerful and attack-minded full-back. He is competitive in nature and is very robust in his challenges.
However at times his nature can lead to his downfall as the former Toulouse man was banned from entering England last year, after a Champions League encounter with Arsenal, where he was charged for assaulting a police officer and the trial will be held next month.
His arrival should bring in competition to make-shift right back Antonio Valencia, which would be a good thing for the team, as a whole.
The Ecuadorian has been solid for United and has served his club greatly over the past seasons, probably being the most consistent footballer at the club.
Despite that, Mourinho is still looking to add reinforcements to his squad to challenge in the Champions League next season and will want to keep his options open.
Deal or no deal?
What do you think, will Aurier join the Red Devils because of Pogba, or will the Mancunians lose out on a proper right back who can set the tempo of the game and provide an attacking option?
The player does have the experience to add more value to the Manchester base side and he is just 24 years old at the moment. The Red Devils do have the money to spend and can easily try to buy him, if they really want to.
Since he made his move to PSG permanent back in 2015, the defensive superstar has made 42 appearances for them, scoring twice.
Playing for a manager of Mourinho could really propel his career in England and he can be a star in the days to come.
A chance to play at The Theatre of Dreams is quite tempting for any player and it will be interesting to see how this story develops ahead.
