Story So Far-
Chelsea are reportedly plotting a shock move for Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy as they look to partner up new arrival Alvaro Morata. The Blues have been frustrated with no big impactful signings this summer and are now looking desperate for any new signings that they can poach, even if it is from their rival clubs.
Blues manager Antonio Conte has already secured deals for Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, Willy Caballero from Manchester City, Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco and Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma but the Italian is still not content with just the four arrivals as he looks into the final week of the transfer window to recruit more players.
Vardy has been in great form for the Foxes over the past two seasons as he led them to an unbelievable title triumph two seasons ago. The England international joined the King Power stadium in 2012 from non-league side Fleetwood Town and has gone on to score 64 goals in 169 appearances for the former champions of England.
Leicester City striker Vardy has been identified as a new target for Conte after a relatively bad start to the season for Chelsea. The London club has lost key players like club legend John Terry and Nemanja Matic over the summer transfer window as they now have to make a last ditch attempt to sign players to defend their Premier League title.
Chelsea are now preparing a bid for Vardy as they plan on spending big for reinforcements as club outcast Diego Costa has hinted that he wants out of Stamford Bridge as Conte has not included him in his future plans. The signing of 30 year old Vardy could also see Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi leave the club for regular football elsewhere.
Vardy has loads of experience, pace and determination. He scored a brace against Arsenal on the opening day of the Premier League and has also been linked to the Gunners, but with Chelsea willing to dash out transfer fees, the club could be seen recruiting a lot of players till transfer dead-line day during the week.
What Next For Chelsea?
The match against Everton will be a crucial fixture and it will be interesting to see how the west London side performs now. If they can pick up a win, they can put pressure on their rivals, who have not been able to have a good start (apart from United probably). Even the Red Devils will want to continue their current form, but if the Londoners can win, it will be interesting to see how they react to the situation then.
The Toffees did fairly well against Manchester City, as they got a point out of the game, though they would have wanted more, looking at the situation that were in. However, the main thing was coming out of the match with something, which they did manage to do.
It will be interesting to see if Vardy does leave the Foxes and move on with his career, with a club like Chelsea. You can follow the rest of the story as it grows, in the days to come on our page.
