Manchester United Now Favourites To Sign Arsenal And Tottenham Target

Battle Of The Londoners-

The 2016 Euro cup champion, Andre Gomes had a miserable season with the Catalans last term and his value is probably low considering that the Blaugrana last season paid £35m plus £20m add ons to acquire the services of the 23 year old Portuguese midfielder. However this has not stopped a few Premier League clubs running behind his signature considering that he is more suited to their style of play, than that of La Liga and certainly he does not suit Barcelona’s style of play.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo published the following in one of their articles. So where do Tottenham and Arsenal come into this? Well, the Catalan media report that Barcelona have received three ‘interesting’ offers for Gomes, with the €35m figure being passed around.

Mundo Deportivo have also reported that there are a few other clubs also interested in the Portuguese international such as Seria A giants Juventus and Europa League Champions Manchester United they add: ‘The other could be Arsenal or Tottenham.’
Altough, There is no explanation as to why Tottenham have been linked to Gomes.

And the Gunners of course, However it is also stated that their might be a third club interested in the player which is also expected to be from the Premier League.

Although if there are any chances of going to the Premier league for the 23 year old Portuguese midfielder apart from joining Arsenal and Tottenham he could choose from the clubs like Liverpool or Everton, West Ham and even Crystal Palace, tough it’s highly unlikely that he would leave the Camp Nou this season.

Last Monday, Mundo Deportivo analyside the situation again and suggested that the former Valencia Man could be used in a player swap deal to sign Italian international Marco Verrati from PSG.

The Ligue 1 giants however know that Andre Gomes has been a flop for the Blaugrana  still the Spanish newspaper continue to link him with a move to Barcelona and even manage to link him to Arsenal and Tottenham.

‘Juventus, Manchester United and another club, Arsenal or Tottenham, could seek him.’

The La Liga giants have however rejected a bid of €35m for the Portuguese midfielder as the clyb believe he still needs one more season to prove his worth and what he is capable of.

If you look at the situation carefully it doesn’t really have to do anything with the Gunners and the Spurs its just a media stunt to show that he is a much wanted player across Europe.

However if Barcelona want to sign Marco Veratti then a sum of £100m+ will be needed without any player involved.

The Manchester Effect-

As per recent reports coming in now, it has been confirmed that Jose Mourinho’s side are favourites to get the deal done in the days to follow. This would mean that they would be beating the two north London giants, who have been trying for quite some time to get a deal done, though a transfer has not been completed yet.

It could also mean that the Gunners and Spurs might push harder to get a deal done, if they are serious about signing the quality star, who has been more of reject at Barca, in recent times.
