The New Claims-
The Spanish and Champions league winners are back in for Manchester United goal-keeper David De Gea. And shockingly, United are reportedly willing to let arguably their best player in the squad leave if they manage to get hold of AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma next season. The Spanish shot-stopper, who has also been his country’s number one keeper, has publicly expressed his desire to leave Manchester United for his native homeland, to play for the European champions Real Madrid.
Though De Gea has a contract that keeps him at Old Trafford till 2019, but is not forcing a move by handing his transfer request, and is reportedly happy with his United team-mates.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has been interested in bringing De Gea to the Bernebeu for quite a while now and is looking to bolster his las line of defense to add competition for Costa Rican Keylor Navas.
The Los Blancos are looking at the 26 year old for a long-term deal at the capital side and United boss Jose Mourinho has hinted that he would allow De Gea to leave the club next summer if he is able to lure 18 year old sensation Donnarumma to Old Trafford. The Italian has been dubbed as the next Buffon and at 6’5; he already has a bigger reach than his predecessor.
The highly rated teenager however, has just signed a lucrative deal which sees him make £150,000 a week, after being pressured by the Serie A club to sign a contract extension. Reports suggested that Donnarumma was not intending on staying at the San Siro next summer, as he wished to play Champions League football but was forced by fans and into signing a new deal with Milan.
And if the Italian outfit fail to qualify for Europe’s elite competition next summer, he is expected to leave the club, with Mourinho ready to swoop up the talented youngster. Milan have spent a lot on transfers incoming this summer as they look to re-live their glory days in the future and may just lose out on Donnarumma who looks desperate for a move away from Italy.
Seriously Joking?
After the kind of start that the Red Devils have made to the season, it would have been a bit of a surprise if the Spaniard would have left Old Trafford. United have scored a total of 8 goals with a couple of clean sheets, securing 6 points so far.
Leaving Old Trafford at such a crucial time would seem a little unprofessional on the part of the first choice keeper for Mourinho and that is one word never associated with him.
Unless the club or manager really wanted to sell him, this could be just one of those stories that might be a fan based fantasies right now.
However, when the club that wants you is as big as Real Madrid, who have just won two consecutive Champions League titles and the La Liga title last term, anything is possible.
The stories keep coming in as we head towards the end of the summer transfer window and we at Beyond The Posts will keep you updated. Surely!!
