Another Player Wasted By Arsenal-
When Arsenal signed Lucas Perez it created a buzz amongst the Arsenal fans, as they had thought at that point of time, that it might finally be the solution to their center forward. The player came in with great enthusiasm and it was expected that he would help solve the crisis that loomed over the Londoners, since Robin van Persie left. Perez moved to the Emirates from Spain last August, for a fee reported to be around the £17m mark and brought along with him a lot of expectations from the fans and Arsene Wenger himself.
Many pundits and fans thought he could be a hit in Premier League cause as he found back of the next 17 times in 36 games for Deportivo in La Liga in 2015-2016 Season and his eye catching dribbling with the ball.
However since arriving in London the Spanish international has struggled to make into starting eleven for Arsenal. He made a total of 21 appearances in all competitions last season in which he chipped in with 7 goals and a couple of assists.
Since the end of last season Perez has been a linked a move away from Arsenal, with arrival Lacazette life won’t get any easier for him at Arsenal.
He has been linked with a move to newly promoted Newcastle for a few weeks now, with his former club Deportivo said to be also are interested in re-signing him.
Arsenal official Instagram dropped biggest hint yet that he may be on move by not having his name on potential top-scorers for the club this season poll in an Instagram post.
The fact that he was not even included in the list speaks volume about his current situation or was it just a genuine mistake by admins of page remains to be seen.
Many of the Arsenal supporters would be hoping he stays and fights for his place, but as situation stands a loan move to Newcastle seems to be the best option for all three parties.
Does It Make Sense To Retain The Forward?
There is no point in keeping a player at the club, who will not be given the right kind of opportunities to showcase his talent. It will not just be a waste for the club, but for the player himself. Rather, a better option will be to let him leave and join a club that can ensure him sufficient game time.
Wenger knows this and might push through a deal, though the fans surely wanted to see a lot more of Perez, knowing the kind of talent that he possesses.
However, things just don’t seem to be working out and it will be best, if he does make the move away and revives his career that has gone downhill so far, since his switch to England.
Which club he will join in the days to come is still not certain, though only time will tell and you can surely keep tabs on this deal and various others by liking our page.
