Preview : Leicester City VS Liverpool, Will The Reds Finally Win This One?

Liverpool will off against Leicester City in the third round of the League Cup at the KP Stadium today. The Reds going through a tough phase, after losing badly against Manchester City with a 5-0 scoreline in the previous weekend. Sadio Mane had raised a high foot against City goalkeeper Ederson and was shown a straight red card after this challenge. It was a big loss for them in the match as 10 men Liverpool were not able to make a comeback in that match.
In the Champions League, Liverpool began their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Sevilla on Wednesday. They had taken the lead in the match 2-1 in the first half with two goals coming from Firmino and Salah but Firmino missed a penalty and wasted the chance to double their lead which proved to be very costly for them as Sevilla equalised the scoreline in the second half. So Liverpool will be desperate to be back on winning track in this match against Burnley, though it ended up in a 1-1 draw once again.
Leicester have seen a couple of wins against the smaller teams, a draw and three losses to the top clubs against the big clubs of English football. The Foxes beat Sheffield United 1-4 in the second round of the competition and will now want to give the Reds a run for their money, as they will be hoping to beat them. It will be interesting to see how this game develops.
The Merseyside club are in 8 place in the Premier League table at present, while their opponents are currently in 15th place. On paper, it should be a win for Jurgen Klopp’s side, though their consistency issues still keep haunting them and in football you never know.
Team News :
Liverpool :
Liverpool will be missing the service of Senegal’s strike Sadio Mane as he had received a red card against Manchester City. The striker is serving 2 match suspension in Premier League and 1 match suspension in Carabao Cup.
Daniel Sturridge will be expected to get a start in place of Sadio Mane while Robertson and in place of Moreno and Arnold, it should be Gomez to make the start. Philippe Coutinho had played in the second half against Sevilla on Wednesday and might get a place in the playing eleven. The new signing Alex Oxlade Chamberlain could also be in contention to start.
Leicester City :
Jamie Vardy had picked up a groin injury recently and is expected to return to the team for this one, though he might start on the bench and come on as a sub. At the back, Christian Fuchs has an eye injury and will not be available for this game. Last but not the least, Matty James has an achilles injury and both he and Fuchs could be available on the 23rd, but might not make it to the cup tie.
My Predicted First Eleven :
Liverpool :
Goalkeeper : Karius.
Defenders : Gomez, Lovren, Matip, Robertson.
Midfielders : Henderson, Grujic, Oxlade Chamberlain.
Attackers : Ings, Solanke, Sturridge.
Leicester City
Goalkeeper : Schimichel.
Defenders : Chilwell, Maguire, Huth, Simpson.
Midfielders : Iborra, Gray, King.
Attackers : Mahrez, Musa, Okazaki.
My Score Prediction :
Leicester City 0-2 Liverpool.
