Match Preview : Will Manchester United Be Able To Beat Everton At Old Trafford, With This Key Star Missing?

Jose Mourinho

Manchester United will face Everton in the fifth match in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday. United have collected 10 points from their 4 encounters so far in the league. They had lost the first point in the league against Stoke City previous weekend with a 2-2 draw. But in the Champions League they just outclassed FC Basel with a emphatic 3-0 win against them.
Everton had started the season well with a win against Stoke and a draw against Manchester City, the side which are looking like the Champions. But they had lost back to back three matches after that. In the Premier League they were beaten by Chelsea and Spurs. On Thursday they surrendered in front of the Italian side Atalanta completely in the Europa League match and lost with a 3-0 margin. The confidence level of the Everton side will be on lower side but their manager Ronald Koeman will like to mark this match as a comeback from the poor form in recent times.
It will also be a match to remember for Romelu Lukaku and Wayne Rooney as they both had altered their clubs this summer and they will be keen to perform well against their former club.
Jose Mourinho’s team has made a great start to the new campaign and will want to keep building on that, though there is a lot of pressure from domestic rivals City, who have really impressed in recent times and are now on top of the points table. The Red Devils will have to win by a margin of 4 goals to go level with their fierce rivals on goal difference, which will be quite tough.
The main focus of the Portuguese manager should be to secure a win and the result from the Chelsea-Arsenal match, will be something that the top teams of English football will be keeping an eye on.
Team News :
Manchester United :
Paul Pogba will out of the contest due to an injury in the previous match of Champions League against Basel. Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are being long term absentee for them. Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are expected to start in the defense after missing out the Champions League match. Fellaini will take the place of Pogba in the midfield. Rashford could be given a start ahead of Martial in the upfront to pair up with Romelu Lukaku.
Everton :
Williams will be back in the defensive line and it should help them to organise their defense more. Martina could get a start at the right wing back position with Baines on the other side of the field. Davies and Gueye will take the heart of the midfield with Gylfi Siggurdson trying to provide support to Rooney and Calvert- Lewin in the upfront.
My Predicted First Eleven :
Manchester United :(4-4-2)
Goalkeeper : De Gea.
Defenders : Jones, Bailly, Valencia, Darmian.
Midfielders : Matic, Fellaini, Herrera, Mkhitaryan.
Attackers : Lukaku, Rashford.
Everton :(5-3-2)
Goalkeeper : Pickford.
Defenders : Williams, Keane, Jagielka, Baines, Martina.
Midfielders : Gueye, Davies, Siggurdson.
Attackers : Rooney, Calvert-Lewin.
My Score Prediction :
Manchester United 2-0 Everton.
