Match Preview : Chelsea VS AS Roma, Top Blues’ Star Missing For Champions League Clash

Chelsea will play against Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday in the match of Group Stage. Chelsea will be keen to finish the Group as Group toppers by winning this match against Roma. Roma are also unbeaten in Champions League this season. So this contest is expected to be a very exciting one.

Chelsea had beaten Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolino with a 2-1 margin and they were victorious against Qarabag FK in the first match of Champions League match with a 6-1 scoreline. They are currently placed at the first position in their Group with 6 points in the 2 matches. They would like to win the third one to seal the top spot of their Group. But Chelsea’s domestic form are not being very good. They had lost back to back two matches in the Premier League against Manchester City and Crystal Palace respectively. Their mental confidence level will be down and they would try to get to the things turned back in their way from this match.

On the other hand, Roma had drawn with Atletico Madrid with a 0-0 Scoreline in their first  match of Group Stage and had beaten Qarabag FK with a margin of 2-1 in the next match. Roma are placed at second position with 4 points in their 2 encounters so far. They are situated in 5th position of the League Table in Serie A. They had also lost against Napoli with a goal from Insigne. But they are quite capable of beating Chelsea on their day and they will be keen to take at least 1 point from this encounter.

Team News :

Victor Moses is the latest casualty of Chelsea’s hamstring bug; out at least for 4 weeks. Drinkwater is suffering from a calf muscle problem for quite a few days. N’Golo Kante is also out with a Grade A hamstring injury in this match.

Thibaut Courtois will start in Chelsea Goal in this match. Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill are the three expected defenders to start in central defense. Zappacosta and Alonso will play in two wing-back positions. Fabregas and Bakayoko are expected to take place in the heart of the midfield while Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and Pedro are expected to lead the Chelsea attack from the upfront.

Roma :

Patrik Schick, Gregoire Defrel, Emerson Palmieri Kevin Strootman and Stephan El Shaarawy are expected to miss the clash against Chelsea for Roma. But Strootman still have a chance to be fit before the match and take part in the match.

Allison will start in the Roma Goal against Chelsea. Bruno Peres, Juan Jesus, Fazio and Kolarov will start in the defense of Roma. De Rossi, Strootman and Nainggolan are expected to play in midfield for Roma while Florenzi, Dzeko and Perotti will start as the attackers in the Roma line up. They are expected to play with a 4-3-3 formation.
