This Could Be A Huge Deal!!
The champions of England, Chelsea are keen on bringing in local London rivals’ Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window. The Englishman has comeback from injury this season and that has been one of the most talked about point all season. Wilshere has been a product of Arsenal’s youth academy and is still with the Gunners after joining the senior team nearly nine years ago. But it has not been a smooth journey for the once identified future superstar. Wilshere’s career has so far been hit with many injuries which have jeopardized his love for the game.
The English international is now in his final 12 months of his Arsenal contract and is one of the many players that could leave the club for free at the end of the season. The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger will now have to set his sights on selling Wilshere in the winter transfer window to raise transfer funds to purchase other targets.
And local rivals Chelsea are willing to buy Wilshere from Arsenal to increase their strength in the midfield position. Antonio Conte’s side sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United and got in Tiemoue Bakayoko from Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco, but the Frenchman hasn’t yet adapted to the Premier League.
Chelsea also signed Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City on transfer deadline day but his injuries have kept him out of action for the Blues. Therefore Jack Wilshere is one option that Chelsea are considering to bid for in January.
The Arsenal youth product has a lot of experience playing in the English league and also spent last season on loan with Bournemouth. Although he had a underwhelming time at the Vitality stadium, Wilshere managed to get himself fit to play his natural game again.
Wilshere is a strong combative and passionate figure in the centre of the pitch. His passing ability and vision on the ball is exquisite, he is also blessed with skill and has the traits that many of the Arsenal invincible’s once held.
He is still just 25 and has a lot to prove in his comeback from major injuries. The Premier League champions could get their season back on track with the signing of Wilshere because he is that good.
It could be a risk for Chelsea if Wilshere were to remain sidelined again. Arsenal, on the other hand, would be hoping if they could keep Wilshere at the Emirates by offering him a new contract. However, we will have to wait and see what lies for young Jack.
Editor’s View: Should Arsenal Let Go?
Though the England international has been struggling with injuries for quite some time now, he still does possess the quality, as he has showcased already this term with the limited amount of time that he has seen on the pitch. Though Wenger will be the one making this tough call, as a Gooner, I would like to see Wilshere playing at the Emirates and not suffering a similar fate to Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
