Monaco’s talented winger Thomas Lemar is being subjected to a transfer tussle between Arsenal and Liverpool. Liverpool are in the market to find replacement for Coutinho, who made a €142m move to Barcelona earlier, at the beginning of the winter transfer window. Jurgen Klopp is spoiled with too many attacking options upfront at Liverpool. Roberto Firmino, Mohammad Salah, Sadio Mane and Lallana all doing pretty well for the Merseyside so far. Reports in Germany even claim that Liverpool had reached personal agreement with Naby Keita for a move next summer.Though the deal still hinges on RB Leipzig’s resolve to hold on to their starman.
Arsenal are also said to be keen to bring the French winger to North London. Their main priority of landing Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United now fulfilled, Wenger is now turning his attention to his other targets.
With uncertainty looming over Arsenal main man Ozil’s future, Wenger’s intention to bring Lemar seems legit.
Meanwhile, speaking at the start of the month Monaco boss Jardim has stated “Monaco are not in the habit of naking big sales in winter”.
“But every player has a price.meet that, and the player is yours” said no manager ever.
Thomas Lemar is now valued at €90m. The price will go up, should he perform well at the World Cup in Russia. All the potential clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool are on alert and want to complete the deal before the big tournament commences.
