Why Andy Carroll Can Be The Perfect Addition To This Chelsea Side

The Best Move For Chelsea?
Current champions of England Chelsea have enquired West Ham about the availability of former Newcastle and Liverpool striker Andy Carroll. Lot of Chelsea fans bemoaned about how the West London club was getting linked with a player like him while their opponents are getting far better players in the window. They have every right to be upset because Andy Carroll hasn’t reached double figures in goals since last scoring 13 goals for Newcastle in 2010/11. We haven’t even started discussing about how injury prone he is.
We here at “Beyond the Posts” take a look at this transfer from a different dimension and see if this striker is indeed the man Antonio Conte needs right now, or are these speculations going to fade away soon.
Chelsea have made 366 crosses this season, the highest in the league so far.And Andy Carroll has a towering height of 6 ft 4 inches and ranks fourth in aerials won(351) and headed goals(8). This stat is rather remarkable considering how he never lasted even 30 games for a club with injuries.
Being a formidable player from set pieces is not the only thing involved here. Antonio Conte in his last season at Juventus signed another lanky striker LLorente and the Spaniard scored 16 goals there, making the Italian win another Serie A title. So Antonio Conte knows how to use a big man upfront.
When Morata fails to deliver, he gets substituted and the team plays without a striker with main man Eden Hazard as the false nine. Andy Carroll can change that.
Buying this Englishman will give Antonio Conte a chance to rest Morata.Playing week in and week out and doing the same mistakes is helping neither the club nor the player.
At a time when the manager doesn’t trust Belgian Michy Bitshuayi, Chelsea need this towering Englishman now, more than ever.

Editor’s View- Does Conte Actually Need Another Striker?

Many would disagree with the fact that the Italian manager should sign another striker. He already has Morata and Michy, with Hazard also a good option to start upfront. Further, Carroll is now injured and will be out for a month, which would mean that Conte will have to be patient, before he can actually make use of the England international.

The need for another player upfront depends now on the fitness and the form of the existing stars within the team. If the existing stars within the squad can convince Conte that there is no need to sign new players, the manager might wait till the end of the season, before making a move.

If not, then he may looking to bring in new stars, with recent reports suggesting that the west London outfit is being linked with a surprising, yet hilarious move for Peter Crouch.

The fans of the champions of England and other clubs have been posting regarding this silly interest, though it will be interesting to see what happens next in this transfer saga, as things have not been going Chelsea’s way this term so far.
