Chelsea Get A Huge Update In The Chase To Sign This Top Star

Story In The Summer!!

The Premier League champions are in a tough spot currently with their players and signings, and nothing seems to be going the way of the Blues. Most recently, the Serie A champions, Juventus, have rejected a bid from Chelsea which was €80m for wing-back Alex Sandro.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been frustrated over the players he hasn’t been able to sign this summer and he is getting more anxious and desperate by the second. The Italian has had two bids worth £52m and £61m rejected by his former side Juventus for Sandro and now the third bid which was supposed to be a club record of £73m has also been snubbed by the Italian giants.

It is quite clear that Juve are unwilling to sell their prized left-back this summer, no matter whatever price the London side offer.

In an attempt to bolster his side’s defense, Conte was looking to sign the Brazilian full-back a bit earlier in the transfer window but was unaware Juventus would be so difficult to convince. To prepare a squad that is defending the League title, he has already lashed out £7m for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata he broke the transfer record just a few weeks ago but the Spaniard hasn’t been able to hit the ground running.

In addition to that Conte has also splashed £40m and £35m for Tiemoue Bakayoko and Anthony Rudiger respectively. Although their recruitment does strengthen Chelsea, one can only wonder how Nemanja Matic was allowed to leave after automatically qualifying for the Champions League this season.

Chelsea had spent close to £150m on just three players in the transfer window and another £73m for a defender sounds crazy, but that is just how desperate the club are for reinforcements.

Latest Update-

The problem in the deal going through between the two clubs still remains to the fee that the Serie A giants want for their priced possession. The Italian side want more money from their European rivals, who are trying to get the deal done for a lesser fee. The Blues want to add more defensive signings and strengthen their defensive line, though they do not wish to spend so much money for the 27 year old left-back.

Conte was eager to sign the Brazilian international for quite some time now, though Juve want a fee of £60m for his services, which has forced the west London outfit to look at alternatives and they will try their best to convince the club from Italy or look for an alternative.

After winning the Premier League title last term and making it to the finals of the FA Cup, things have not gone as per plan, for the Londoners and they will want to fortify their squad in the days to come.

Another interesting factor in this deal will be whether or not Conte does remain at the club, as the recent rumours have suggested otherwise.

Whatever be the final result, the fans will be closely watching every move that their favourite club makes in the days to come.
