It has been reported that Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has been linked with a move away to Premier League rivals, amid interest from European champions Real Madrid. The deal will involve an exchange as City striker Sergio Aguero would be allowed to join Chelsea. Eden Hazard has been one of the best players in the Premier League so far and has attracted interest from La Liga champions Real Madrid who are keen on luring him to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window. But there could be a twist in the Belgian’s future as English Premier League table toppers Manchester City are now keen on entering the race for Hazard.
City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly become frustrated with the lack of goals from his centre-forward Sergio Aguero. At the start of the season, Gabriel Jesus was picked ahead of the Argentine, but an injury to the 20-year-old attacker sustained an injury which forced Guardiola to make do with Aguero as the first choice forward.
Despite Aguero’s capabilities and unbelievable characteristics as a striker, Manchester City are willing to offload the forward to include Hazard in their starting lineup. Man City has been scoring a lot of goals through their wingers and attacking midfielder’s, a trend that Pep has kept with his managing career, allowing midfielders to score more goals with the quick interplay football.
The two players are brilliant at what they do; they are both extremely strong and skillful on the ball and have a great understanding of the game. But Hazard and Aguero are keen to run out their contract in separate manners, with two years respectively on each of the superstars’ deals still remaining. However, this exchange of the two players would favor the Manchester outfit slightly more than the London club.
Hazard has been one of Chelsea’s standout players this season and has kept the Blues ticking in attack despite the Premier League winners struggling in 4th place on the table. But the 27-year-old Belgian starlet hasn’t agreed to a new contract extension with Chelsea amid interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid which probably means that Hazard is keen for a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Manchester City missed out on Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window as local rivals Manchester United beat their noisy neighbors to the Chilean’s signature and Guardiola has been heavily impressed by Hazard. Chelsea may consider letting go of Hazard, given they too would receive a world class player in exchange.
Spanish summer club record signing Alvaro Morata has still not settled completely at Stamford Bridge and Olivier Giroud is not an out and out goal-scorer. Therefore, to soften the blow of Hazard leaving Chelsea, the Blues will look to replace him with Sergio Aguero.
The 29-year-old Argentine has not been at his impeccable best but everyone in the world knows what a tremendous forward he is when he is on-form. Aguero has been leading the line for Manchester City as the Premier League leaders are at the summit of the table 16 point adrift Manchester United in 2nd place.
