The winter transfer window has come to an end and the football clubs all over the world are already on the job of drafting out their shopping list for the upcoming summer. This particular transfer rumour is coming from England which clearly implies that in spite of spending €430m in the winter window alone, the clubs aren’t satisfied with the the huge set of players that they have at their disposal.
Reports claim that Liverpool and Manchester United are the clubs that are ready to battle it out in the summer transfer window for Borussia Dortmund’s talented winger Christian Pulisic. The 19 year old winger was bought from club PA Classics in the year 2015. From then on, there was no looking back for the United States international. He has developed into one of the most exciting
youngsters in the market right now.
He is an integral part of Peter Stoger’s starting eleven, having made 25 appearances for the German club so far this season. He is also capped internationally, having scored 9 goals in 20 appearances.
His impressive form and potential is attracting attention from scouts of Liverpool and Manchester United. Even Bayern Munich is said to be keen on the young player. Jurgen Klopp is still left with much of the Phillipe Coutinho funds to spend and it seems that the boss wants to bring this player to Anfield , leading to a reunion with his former player.
Klopp sees Pulisic as the man to replace Coutinho and fill in the void that the talented Brazilian has left, after signing for Barcelona in a € 142m deal. Jose Mourinho has already invested much to land Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. But wants to increase the attacking options up front to catch up with Manchester City in the upcoming season. Pulisic is rated as ” The future of American football” by many pundits and football tabloids. This will definitely appeal to Liverpool and United’s American owners.
Pulisic has his contract running until 2020. With only two years left on his contract , Dortmund will find it difficult to hold onto him. Dortmund are rapidly working to tie him down to along term contract. It is believed that Dortmund value the player at €100m.
Pulisic’s future is still looming in the air. He may stay a Dortmund and continue his development , much to relief of Peter Stoger and Dortmund faithful. Or he may move elsewhere, possibly to one of these two English clubs. Either way It’s a win- win situation. One gets the player and other gets huge stacks of money that can be invested in other part of the club or on a possible replacement.
Meanwhile the Gunners have signed Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund on the deadline day. Aubameyang was on red-hot form this season as well as he was banging in goals regularly for the black and yellow’s but was eager to move away from the Signal Iduna Park as Dortmund were struggling this campaign. All in all, Aubameyang scored a staggering 141 goals in 213 appearances for Dortmund including 21 goals this season in 24 games. But the club grew frustrated with Aubameyang’s disciplinary actions and was keen to sell him this winter transfer window itself if a bid was reasonable.
