Red Bull Leipzig superstar Timo Werner has made a plea for a top European club to sign him as soon as possible. English clubs Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool and Spanish clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid are the clubs that Werner is looking to join as the clubs too are on high alert.
Werner has made a plea to the top clubs across Europe asking them to make a bid for him. The striker has been in tremendous form for the German club and feels he deserves to play at a higher level. Therefore Werner has stated that he would welcome any offers from big clubs.
The 21-year-old has decided that he isn’t going to lie about his ambitions and will work hard towards achieving success. Werner has become prolific for Leipzig and the youngster is keen on moving away from his native land, with English giants Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea interested in his services.
Having shot to stardom in the past 18 months after moving from Stuttgart to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2016, Werner is now looking to improve on his already impressive numbers. In 61 appearances for the Bundesliga club, Werner has amassed 37 goals which is heavily impressive given his age.
Speaking to a news outlet earlier this week, the German forward, who has been attracting a lot of interest said, “If you take Germany, it would be a lie to say that you would not like to play for Bayern. It would be a lie to say in England you would not like to play for Manchester United or Manchester City. Spain – Barca or Real. There are great clubs in every league. Italy or France would not be my leagues, but the other three. There are so many clubs you’d like to play for. I don’t want to tie myself down. I will see what happens.”
Werner is also looking to impress with his national side at the World Cup in the summer as he is eager to play more football, willing to give another season with his current club. He led his country to success at the FIFA Confederations Cup and added, “The new season is still far away. We have big goals with RB, want to qualify for Champions League. Hopefully, I will go the World Cup after that, and only then I will think about the future. Right now, I feel good here at Leipzig. My contract says that I should, must, can, will play here for another two years. That’s why there are no other thoughts.”
However, Leipzig has figured out they have a superstar at their club and are willing to extend the young German’s contract so they could sell him for a higher price or keep him for themselves.
Certainly, the big clubs in Europe will want to have a shot at Werner, a youngster playing at the top of his game, hungry for trophies. A swoop in for this superstar could be on the card in the summer transfer window.
