Three Reasons Why Chelsea Should Not Sign Manchester United’s Luke Shaw

The English International Left Back Luke Shaw is having serious problem with their manager Jose Mourinho and on his way to leave the club for Chelsea. The player has featured in Manchester United’s FA Cup Quarter Final match against Brighton and Hove Athletic. The days of Luke Shaw at Manchester United are going to be numbered in the upcoming days. It will be the prime target of Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window to sell the player.

There are many English clubs seeming to be interested to buy Luke Shaw in the upcoming summer transfer window. The addition of Luke Shaw to any top English side will add their depth of the squad. Many big clubs including Chelsea are interested to sign Luke Shaw in the upcoming summer transfer window. The player also wants to secure a move to a new club to have a new beginning of his career. Chelsea might be the best place for the English left back to go. Will the addition of Luke Shaw help Chelsea to strengthen their squad?- the question is lingering around every corners of Stamford Bridge.

According to our views, the addition of Luke Shaw in the squad of the Blues will not be very much fruitful for the future of the club. In this article we will discuss about the three reasons why the addition of Luke Shaw in the Chelsea squad will not be helpful for the club.

1. Luke Shaw’s Bad Patch of Form :

The English left back is going through a real bad patch of form. He is also very much injury prone. Luke Shaw was taken off after the half time in the match against Brighton and Hove Athletic in the quarter final of the FA Cup. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was reportedly unhappy with the performance of the left back. He was getting furious over his player in the course of the first half. It was a really bad sign for the defender. A defender is not generally substituted. They are expected to play the full 90 minutes. It might also indicate Luke Shaw’s match fitness as the player just came back from an injury problem. The injury had affected the gameplay of the footballer badly. So, it will not be very wise for Chelsea board to take an injury prone footballer.

2. Marcos Alonso Is Way Better Than Luke Shaw :

Marcos Alonso plays in the right wing back position for the Blues under the management of Antonio Conte. Conte prefers to play with 3 center backs with two wing backs moving up and down. A player like Luke Shaw lacks many of the attributes to play as a wingback in the club like Chelsea. They will be more exposed in the defense with the presence of a player who can not track back well in time.

3. Availability Of Better Options In The Transfer Market :

It is true that Chelsea need a good back up option for Marcos Alonso for a long season. They were linked with Alex Sandro through out the previous summer transfer window; but the move was not finalized then due to various circumstances. If Chelsea go for the player with more eagerness, the move can happen in next summer.
