Will Antonio Conte Be Replaced By Chelsea? What Options Does The West London Outfit Have

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte looks increasingly under pressure after a string of woeful performances. The Italian manager who was in charge in charge of the national team took the  job of manager at Stamford Bridge in 2016 , following the departure of one of Chelsea’s most decorated manager Jose Mourinho .

The West London  club quickly went back to winning ways in the season . The team put up a 13 match  winning streak and eventually won the Premier League title of the season.

The following season didn’t go the way the Italian had planned . Things went awry with the team having shortage of players followed by important players going through a rough patch because of lack of rest  with UEFA Champions League football coming back to the club this term.

The way the cub is going followed by the club officials failure to get the players wanted by Antonio Conte , it’s  highly likely that the Italian isn’t staying beyond the summer at the Bridge.

The team is currently at 5th position in the league and with Chelsea defender Cahill admitting that they’ve given on the fourth positon to Tottenham , the season doesn’t look to end on a positive note unless they win the FA cup . That may salvage some pride but wouldn’t do much to instill the board’s confidence on Conte .

The exit of the Italian is something that will sink the hearts of many Chelsea fans , including the one writing this very post .

Here’s a list of managers  that could take the reins from the fiery Italian :

1. LUIS ENRIQUE

This man is the favourites of the bookies to be the next manager at Stamford Bridge.

The former Barcelona manager has been out of work since leaving the Spanish club in April 2017 .  He took a year long break and may be keen to take over a new challenge . The Spanish tactician won one UCL title and two league titles and two cup doubles during his time at Camp Nou .

2. MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

This man replaced Antonio Conte at Juventus in the year 2014.

He sustained Conte’s success at the club and even went on to surpass it by claiming three SERIE A titles and reached two UEFA Champions League finals.

The former AC Milan manager is a favourite to  take up the job with an Italian newspaper even going on to claim that that the 50 year old accepted in principle or rather agreed terms to be Conte’s successor.

3. CARLO ANCELOTTI

This Italian won the league title in his first season at Chelsea and was then sacked in the tunnel at Goodison Park a year later. Success followed in PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern , though he was sacked by the German club earlier this season.

With main man Roman Abramovich having a habit of  giving former managers a second chance, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Italian makes his way back to the Bridge.

4. MAURIZIO SARRI

It would be unfair to say that this season’s breakout manager has no chance to take up the London job.

After 25 years in a series of non-glamorous positions, Sarri’s Napoli have turned out to be one of the most exciting sides in Europe.

With a release clause of just €6.75m , Roman may be tempted to trigger the clause and bring the man to England.

5.  IEGO SIMEONE

The Argentine has worked wonders in the Spanish capital. He has been around since 2011. He stated on multiple occasions that he is happy at Madrid but an urge to take up a new challenge may make him come all he way to London.
