Serie B Side Venezia are closing in on this young Chelsea Youth Product. The Blues academy player Harvey St Clair is interested to in a switch to Serie B outfit Venezia. Gianluca Di Marzio a well known football journalist has reported that the young Scottish winger wants more first team opportunities to showcase his talents and since it won’t be too easy to break into the starting eleven at the Stamford Bridge he is set his sights on a move to the second tier Italian football.
Venezia had brilliant campaign last season as they finished 5th in the Serie B league table, they did qualify for a playoff spot but just narrowly missed out on a promotion to Serie A as Palermo beat them 2-1 over the course of two legs.
The Second division Italian outfit are seriously considering to bring in the 19 year old winger as they are looking to bolster their ranks in the attack.
St Clair is waiting for his contract to run out next month so he can go ahead with the move to Italy on a free transfer.
Chelsea do not want to lose out on him and have made an improved deal to the teenager in order to pursue him to stay at the Stamford Bridge, But the young gun has set sights on a move away from England in order to find first team football which Venezia is offering.
The Scottish has appeared regularly for the U-18 and the U-23 side’s,. But he wants exposure at the highest level wich Chelsea are reluctant to offer hence he has decided not to sign a new deal.
Harvey was born in London but has featured for Scotland’s U-19 side and has been with Blues since the age of 8 and is very familiar name within the Chelsea Academy.
St Clair is a new generation winger, He has Pace with a few tricks up his sleeve. He is versatile and can play on the either side of wings, he can also fill in as an attacking midfielder or a second striker.
He finds the back of net frequently and has been a regular for the Chelsea Premier League 2 squad.
He was also a part of the Chelsea U-21 side wich made it to the Checkatrade Trophy semi-final. He appeared 5 times scoring once in the process against Oxford United in the quarter finals of the competition.
He has also won a domestic treble with the youth squad in the 2016/17 season. The Side won the League, League Cup and the FA Youth Cup. He also managed to get on the scoresheet against Reading in last game of the campaign which won them the championship coincidentally Chelsea’s senior squad to won the Premier League on the same day.
Chelsea are known to produce the best Youth players and hence it is very tough for youngster like Harvey to break into the senior squad, The Blues do value and appreciate his talents and he is very highly rated in academy setup, but he has already decided on his future and will sign for Venezia next month.
