Sergej Milinkovic Savic, the curator behind Lazio’s outstanding season, is making up his mind whether to join Premier League giants Manchester United in the current transfer window or not. The Red Devils had already done some fine business in the last few weeks by securing the signature of Brazilian wonder-kid Fred and Portuguese youngster Dalot, to make their squad appealing for the trophy they crave for each season.
To add to that, it seems that their summer target Milinkovic Savic is looking forward to join the club from Old Trafford, in the days to come.
Savic has been patrolling the club’s Instragram posts for couple of months and he seems to be happy about it. Each like and each comments indicate the midfield dynamo’s next preferred destination.
That may open up the gates to finally land the Serbian superstar, with Jose Mourinho looking to change things around within his squad.
The Portuguese main-man ended the previous campaign without a single title and will not want to repeat that, with his team losing the FA Cup final to Chelsea.
Lazio’s best return of a Serie A season after almost decade have propelled due to their talented and intelligent player and so this won’t be easier to trigger his 80 million price tag.
However, Jose Mourinho will be keen to replace Michael Carrick and departing Fellani with the duo Fred and Milinkovic and that of course will bring a more attack minded standard in the dressing.
There are doubts about the future of France international Paul Pogba as well, who is being linked with a host of top clubs, with the Manchester based side said to be willing to let him go.
There have been some differences of opinion between the player and his manager, duo to which he was on and off the pitch at times last term.
It seems now that they will be looking to cash in on his services, with the former Chelsea and Real Madrid man does not wish to keep hold of him, as he has failed to live up of expectations.
It is high time to bring in some more fire-power that will propel the Premier League giants back to glory and it seems that Savic can be one such player now.
The midfielder is just 23 at present and can really grow into a top star in England, if he settles down quickly at the club and make a name for himself.
United will be looking to let go of some of their stars, who are past their prime and bring in more young and talented, which would help them rebuild themselves as a dominant force across Europe.
Though, this has not happened so far, they will really need to spend wisely and get the job done this time, with a positive start to the transfer season already.
It will be interesting to see now which players further make the switch to The Theatre of Dreams and the World Cup could really be crucial in making that decision.
