Revealed: Is Veteran Keeper Petr Cech’s Time At Arsenal All But Over?

Arsenal have signed one of the top Bundesliga Goalkeepers in this summer transfer window. Bernd Leno has a moderate season with Bayer Leverkusen in the previous season. Now, one question is lingering all over the Emirates that who will be the first choice Goalkeeper of the Gunners in the next season. Petr Cech is certainly ageing and his reflexes are not like the same as the previous one. In the previous season it was all seeming that Petr Cech had left his golden days back at Chelsea.

On the other hand, Bernd Leno was in the preliminary squad of Germany for the World Cup in Russia. Bernd Leno was excluded from the final 23 men squad of Germany for the World Cup. Bernd Leno did not perform at his best in the previous season for Bayer Leverkusen. So, it is seeming that Bernd Leno might not be the first choice Goalkeeper for the Gunners in the next season. The veteran Goalkeeper Petr Cech will be under the bars for the Gunners in the next season.

According to the sources, Petr Cech has got several offers from the Serie A club Napoli. But, the veteran Goalkeeper has rejected the offer repeatedly as he has probably got the assurance from the new manager of Arsenal, Unai Emery that he is going to be the first choice Goalkeeper for the Gunners in the next season. Arsenal have another choice of Goalkeeper whom they can use in the Cup matches.

The Colombian star Goalkeeper David Ospina did not ever prove himself to be the first choice Goalkeeper for the Gunners. Petr Cech was always the first choice Goalkeeper of the Gunners in the previous two seasons when David Ospina was also present in the squad. The Czech Republic International has all the experience under his belts to be the first choice of Goalkeeper of the Gunners in the next season.

Petr Cech has won both Champions League and Europa League titles with the Blues. But according to most of the football pundits, Petr Cech has spent his golden days at Stamford Bridge. After coming to the Emirates, Petr Cech has only been the shadow  of his previous form at Chelsea. The veteran Goalkeeper was not in his best form at the Emirates till this end of his career.

So, after the inclusion of Bernd Leno in the Arsenal squad, some people might have thought that he will surely be the first choice Goalkeeper for the Gunners in the next season. But, thing is not like that as many people have thought. Bernd Leno was excluded from the squad of Germany due to his moderately poor performance with Bayer Leverkusen in the previous season. On the other hand, Arsenal club management thinks that Petr Cech is still the best man in business for the Gunners under the bars. Bernd Leno is brought just as a very good backup option as it is seeming to be. Now, we have to see the performance of both the keepers at the first half of the season.
