This Is Why Diego Costa Will Never Be The Striker Spain Need

Former Chelsea Striker Diego Costa was seeming to be furious after the draw against Portugal with 3-3 scoreline. It was a match to remember for all the football fans over the World Cup. The match always went up and down with the time. Cristiano Ronaldo has put the Portuguese side ahead just after the beginning of the match. It was a real good start from Portugal as Cristiano Ronaldo and Co were desperate to get a good result in the opening game of the World Cup. Spain made a comeback with a superb goal of Diego Costa as his solo effort was enough for the Spanish side to boost their confidence level up in the match.

Spain were again trailing in the match after a powerful shot of Cristiano Ronaldo was converted into a goal with a mistake from David De Gea. It was seeming to be really frustrating from the point of view of the Spanish side before the half time mark. Diego Costa has again levelled the scoreline for Spain with a brilliant presence of mind. Nacho’s powerful strike has given Spain the lead at the 58th minute of the match. But all the credits had gone to Cristiano Ronaldo as his free kick at the 88th minute of the match had given the Portuguese side the vital one point lead in the match.

After the end of the match, the Spanish striker Diego Costa was reportedly unhappy with the decision of subbing him off at the 78th minute of the match. According to the sources, Diego Costa told that, he was one of the reasons why Portuguese defense were looking to mark. After his departure from the field, the pressure went off completely from the Portuguese defense. Former Chelsea striker has told the new Spanish head coach Fernando Hierro that he is an outsider and has no knowledge about the Spanish side. Fernando Hierro has taken the job of the Spanish head coach just two days back. The former head coach Juan Lopetegui was sacked as he was announced the manager of Real Madrid two days ago. It was a picture of a clear unhappy dressing room of the Spanish side. The Spanish National football team management have thought that there will be a clear division between the Real Madrid players and other teams’ players after this announcement. So, they have decided to sack Lopetegui and brought Fernando Hierro in a short time period.

It is quite impossible for a new coach to control the dressing room of a national side in a big tournament like World Cup. There is also a problem in choosing a player in the right back position for Spain. Dani Carvajal is injured ; Odriozola has started in few practice matches. But he failed to impress the manager with his performance and Nacho was selected over him. Nacho was completely responsible for the “penalty” awarded to Portugal. Now, Spain are in deep trouble. We have to wait and watch how they will perform against the group topper Iran in the next match.
