Three Reasons Why Brazil Could Actually Win The World Cup This Time

Chelsea

This World Cup might just be the World Cup of minnows as we have seen no favourites to win their respective matches in the first round of play yet. But as we all know that it is just the beginning of the World Cup. There are lots of dramas awaiting for us in the upcoming days. Brazil have shared points with Switzerland in the first round of Group Stage match. The match had ended with a scoreline of 1-1. Philippe Coutinho’s stunner was cancelled out Zuber’s brilliant header from Shaqiri’s corner. Here we will discuss why Brazil can still win the World Cup from here on :

1. Just A Bad Day In The Office For Neymar :

Neymar is returning to his full fitness after a bad injury. He just needs some more gametime to regain his previous form. We all know what he can do with the ball in his feet. Moreover, the Swiss defenders were all over him. They were tackling him whenever he was getting the ball. The Swiss defenders were shown 3 yellow cards in the match. Neymar is also not looking very much comfortable whenever he is facing those heavy tackles. But as the tournament will progress, we can expect him to be more lethal at the upfront for Brazil as he is the man, Brazil need badly.

2. Philippe Coutinho Is Getting Better Day By Day :

In the starting line up of Brazil, Philippe Coutinho is an integral part. Philippe Coutinho can play in different positions in the 4-3-3 formation of Brazil. We have seen Philippe Coutinho to play at the wings for Liverpool. After going to Barcelona in the winter transfer window, he is more playing as the central midfielder than the winger role. In this Brazilian national team too, the coach Tite is playing Philippe Coutinho in the central midfield position along with Paulinho and Casemiro.

In the match against Switzerland, Philippe Coutinho has given his side Brazil the crucial lead in the first half with a stunning shot. It is always an advantage for a side to have the presence of a midfielder like Philippe Coutinho who can take shot outside the penalty box. In some moments, we have also seen good combination play with Neymar, Jesus, Coutinho and Willian. The understanding between the players of Brazil could be a big factor for them in the next stage of the World Cup.

3. Brazilian Defense Were Solid Except One Time :

The defensive unit of Brazil have played brilliantly against Switzerland and it will be one of the factors which will help them in the knockout stage of the tournament. The centre back pair of Miranda and Thiago Silva were excellent and they have completely bottled the Swiss Striker Seferovic in the whole match. Miranda was clearly pushed from behind by Zuber who had headed the ball into the Goal for Switzerland. Otherwise, the defensive unit have played their part. Marcelo and Danilo also played their part. Willian came back to help the defense several times and they have not felt the absence of Dani Alves in the right back position.
