Update On This Top Defender Wanted By Klopp And Liverpool, Is This Deal Worth The Money?

The Reds want to fight out in all competition next season and have already bought in AS Monaco right back Fabhino and having already agreed to sign Guinean international Naby Keita from Bundesliga side Red Bull Salzburg for a fee of €57m last Summer, Liverpool are finally heading towards a new era in their Clubs history.

Jurgen Klopp wants to add more quality to his side and strengthing the defence is his priority. The Kops have identified Porto Left Back Alex Telles as the suitable candidate for the left flank.

Brazilian left back Telles has a release clause in his contract which allows him to leave for any club which triggers it. Klopp wants to give more competition to Andrew Robertson who has impressed this season for Liverpool and out of form full back Dejan Lovern may be sold this Summer.

Alex Telles has a €35m release clause in his contract which is non negotiable so if The Reds want to secure this signing they will have to pay the whole amount up front which won’t be an issue considering the big money offer they accepted this January.

Chelsea are also rumoured to have a strong interest in the 25 year old so Liverpool might face some competition to secure his services.

Primeira Liga Champions FC Porto have already lost two of their talented full backs this month. Portuguese international Ricardo Pereira left for Leicester City this month for a fee of €25m.

Diogo Dalot also left for Manchester United for a fee of €19m. The 19 year old was a subject of interest for many clubs but he chose to flourish under fellow countrymen Jose Mourhino.

Alex Telles is yet to earn a international call up from Brazil, Considering the wealth of talent and competition they posses in that position, Telles could represent the Italians since he has an Italian passport and has also admitted that he would play for them if a chance arrives.

The Kops were in an embarrassing situation earlier this month as they failed to land France international Nabil Fekir from Lyon, The Reds agreed to a proposed transfer fee and Lyon to were ready to part ways with the talented striker but Liverpool’s unprofessionalism of renegotiating after having coming to terms caused Lyon’s hierarchy to cancel the transfer and they also issued a statement that they will not sell the player to Liverpool this Summer.

So Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that the board does not mess up again like this in the future and snap up all the targets for the season before the start of the new campaign so the new arrivals get to know more about their current  teammates.

After Missing out on the Champions League last season Klopp is even more determined to win a silverware this season and considering the squad he has built over the course of three season Liverpool look like a serious Title Contenders and who knows if they go on the win their first Premier League title in 27 years.
