The World Cup is over and the pre-season adjustments to the squads are being made. The summer transfer window is on and the European giants are on its way to pick their favourites. Chelsea finished at the fifth position last time and looking to grab the title back this time. Antonio Conte is sacked and he will be no longer at the Bridge next season. The 48-year-old Italian manager who won the Premier League in his first season and the FA Cup last time in May is sacked on Friday. He is being replaced by Maurizio Sarri. Conte made his statement after going out of the future plans of Chelsea and he said that he would take his experience from the Premier League into his next challenge. With that being said, the club is in need of more strikers, with Alvaro Morata being on their sale-list.
He seemed nostalgic as he said that he is proud of his club and thankful to be able to share his emotions, passion and enthusiasm with Chelsea. Chelsea supporters would always be in his heart. He wished luck for his ex-club and said that he will wish Chelsea to continue as successful as always.
He seemed emotional at some times, while he said that he has made many memories during his time with Chelsea, which he will take with him into his next challenge. On the other hand, Conte may have his next job by the end of this month as the vintage Italian club has contacted him for this time.
Gennaro Gattuso, the current AC Milan manager, failed to lead his side to Champions League in the upcoming season as Milan ended sixth in Serie A. Milan ended 31 points behind champions Juventus.
Milan had missed their chances to hire Conte before as Chelsea grabbed him before Milan could take a step. The striker crisis still continues at Bridge as Alvaro Morata has gone underperformed till his appearance at London. Morata has never been the same since his arrival from Spain.
Conte was the man behind bringing in the Spaniard to west London and Milan feel they can offer Morata into leaving Chelsea. Morata is under contract with the Blues until 2022 though it still remains to be seen whether he will be part of Sarri’s plans.
It has been rumoured that Sarri is targeting Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski though they may face tough competition from Real Madrid. Uncontrolled finances and ownership issues have gotten them banned from UEFA Champions League. Though there is always a hope with a better future with new and more solid ownership plans and a reinforce to the team.
Alvaro Morata could be the new face of Milan this time and the Spaniard may get fit in the Italian League too. Milan is also looking for Gonzalo Higuain who may leave Juventus as Cristiano Ronaldo has landed at the Italian club. Morata may join Milan though he can also thrive under Sarri.
If Sarri can make Dries Mertens a goal machine then he may surely make Morata computable. It would be Higuain or Morata who can join Milan and seems a new era is waiting ahead of them.
