This Manchester United Legend Lashes Out At Jose Mourinho’s Tactics

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has slammed the defensive tactics of their manager Jose Mourinho badly. The Red Devils are known for their rich history of past glorious days and they used to play an eye soothing beautiful football in those days. The Red Devils were a great side under the era of Alex Ferguson. Alex Ferguson has served a long term managerial career at Old Trafford. The opponents used to be scared of Manchester United when Alex Ferguson was their manager.

The team was habituated with getting the respect from the opponent sides. They were known for playing an attacking brand of football. But, things have drastically changed after the departure of Alex Ferguson from the dressing room of Manchester United. The club management have tried several managers after the era of Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford. At first, they have tried David Moyes as the immediate successor of Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

But, David Moyes was not able to give the Red Devils any kind of success. He had lost the control of the dressing room after not getting success in the Premier League as well as in the Champions League. As a result of it, he was sacked and Louis Van Gaal was given the chance to manage the Red Devils. Under the management of Louis Van Gaal, Manchester United were looking better than they were under the management of David Moyes. Though, under the management of Louis Van Gaal, the Red Devils drew a several number of matches. The Red Devils were able to win one FA Cup under the management of Louis Van Gaal.

After the departure of Louis Van Gaal from Old Trafford, the Red Devils have appointed Jose Mourinho as their new manager at the beginning of the 2016-17 season. Under the management of Jose Mourinho, Manchester United have began to get success. The Red Devils have won Community Shield, Europa League and the League Cup in his first season at Old Trafford.

The fans of Manchester United have started to believe in their team again and the critics have started to say that the old Manchester United are back under the management of the Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho. But, their joy didn’t last long as the Red Devils were unable to get any trophy under the management of Jose Mourinho in his second season at Manchester United. The Red Devils have finished in the second position in the Premier League in the previous season and they were well behind their arch rivals Manchester City in terms of points.

Manchester United were out of the Champions League from the round of 16 stage of the tournament. They were beaten by Chelsea in the FA Cup Final too. After that, the criticisms have been started to come in against the defensive strategy of Jose Mourinho. The team were not able to make a comeback after conceding one goal. Now, the legend of Manchester United, Paul Scholes is the recent addition to join the list to criticise the strategy of Jose Mourinho.
