2. Alvaro Morata:
Morata’s slump in form started right since he arrived at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte’s persistence in signing him bore him no fruits as he failed to live up to the expectations of the Italian preceptor.
Chelsea roped Morata in after parting ways with one of the most clinical strikers in the current football canon, Diego Costa. Costa exhibited poor displays in the end and mostly started as a substitute for the Blues. However, Conte’s machinations of swapping him with a fast-paced Morata hit a snag as the Spaniard was in his profligate nature right since day one.
Morata’s number at Stamford Bridge reads at a stuttering 12 goals from 34 matches which were mainly tap-ins or headers. Shelving creativity in a far-fetched rack, Morata’s instincts are absolutely obtuse.
With Willian exhibiting steep withdrawal symptoms and with Pedro and Kovacic still to be at their scintillating best, Morata will be heavily banked upon by Sarri.
Sarri’s football philosophy includes dynamic football even that means conceding a goal or two. This philosophy definitely indulges a battery of unsparing attacks which will involve the likes of Morata, Jorginho, Kovacic, and Hazard. Despite Hazard’s hazardous runs in the midfield, the rest of the troika is yet to thrive.
With Morata stooping to a new low of some abysmal football, Sarri will probably look forward to making a few changes here and there and rope in a quality strike that can impel Chelsea’s chances of notching up the Premier League.
1. Roberto Firmino:
Firmino is known to be more of a super-sub than a regular starter. However, this League has seen a sloppy Firmino at times. His strikes seemed to be of lesser power and way more awry than his usual self.
Firmino is an imperative name when it comes down to the attacking set-up of Liverpool. In Klopp’s set-up of Salah-Mane-Keita-Firmino, even a man down from this set-up makes it difficult for Liverpool to connect.
Firmono’s loss of form is never really a question as he seems to be way sharper and fitter than he was before. We are looking forward at a famished Brazilian forward than what we have seen previously.
It will only be time which shall corroborate the idea of Firmino firing on all cylinders or will it be a dried up Firmino, warming the bench more often.
