Breaking: Chelsea Star Left Fuming As Blues Reject Yet Another Loan Deal For The Player

Ruben Loftus-Cheek impressed a lot in Russia when he was in action for England at the World Cup. The midfielder had a successful loan stint at Crystal Palace and was hence rewarded with a place in Gareth Southgate’s England side. But things have not been great since the World Cup as the 22-year old midfielder has been down the pecking order at Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri and could only manage 22 minutes in the three Premier Leagues so far. The midfielder was again eager for a temporary move away from Stamford Bridge. Loftus-Cheek did have suitors in form of Schalke and Monaco but both loan offers were rejected by the club. The midfielder was definitely not happy with the club’s decision to keep him without allowing proper game time. The competition has increased even more since the arrival of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic in midfield. But according to manager Maurizio Sarri, the midfielder has improved a lot and will have his part to play very soon. The Italian went on praising him as he said to sky sports, “I’m very, very happy with him because in the last 10 days he has improved a lot,” Sarri said. “So I am really very happy with him.” “I think that he will be important for sure. Starting from September we will play every three days and so I think that Loftus will be very important and very useful for us.” “It’s not easy to play here because here there are 25 very good players and so it’s not easy to play in the starting 11 but I think that he will improve more.”

The midfielder has been lauded as a great prospect from Chelsea’s much-vaunted academy but since then has failed to make a name for himself in the Club’s starting eleven consistently. The England international made his first debut for Chelsea in 2014 under Jose Mourinho. Opportunities dried up for the English midfielder as Jose was replaced by Guus Hiddink midway through the next season and then eventually Antonio Conte took charge and he was again kept aside. He got his chances when he was loaned out to Crystal Palace and his inspiring performances there bore fruit as he was the part of England’s semi-final triumph in Russia.

Sarri likes to work with young and talented prospects and Loftus-Cheek clearly fits the bill very nicely. Now that the 22-year old will remain in West London he should put his heart and soul together to impress the new boss and help his team challenge for titles this season.

There are a lot of tournaments coming up for Chelsea and fatigue can be a major issue as the season goes on and keeping that in mind maybe Sarri wants to keep his options open. Once the Carabao Cup and the UEFA Europa League begins the Italian tactician will need services of others as well. Chelsea has had a great start to their Premier League campaign as they along with Liverpool, Tottenham and Watford have won all their first 3 games of their new campaign.
