From Ola Aina To Loftus-Cheek, This Is The Main Problem For Youngsters At Chelsea

Chelsea has sent yet another youngster on loan with an utter dismay of any return voyage to participate in club’s project. Ola Aina is the name and he is off to Torino in Italy, carrying an uncertainty of the spell that have no magic at the end.

One of the latest academy graduate, Aina plays as a right back with a lot of mobility in his approach, up and down the pitch. His game-play includes sharp runs on his flank, getting into crossing positions, intercepting balls higher on the ground and he is also defensively sound in his other role. Therefore, he was under the radar of clubs hunting for young prospects and understanding Chelsea’s loan system, Torino’s interest hit the alarm.

Aina has played a few games in the new Serie A season with the performance against Inter, the eye catching one. His Excellency side by side with efficiency sparkled in that game as he witnessed a stunning comeback courtesy of his team overcoming a two goal deficit to level the game up. Ola was a potential threat in Inter’s danger zone with his rapid crossing ability in spotting out Belloti and co inside the box. This little aspects of his game shows he has a bright future ahead. But where? Is that Chelsea or somewhere else?

Maurizio Sarri believes in an attacking diploma of play and that is indeed reflected on the first few games in his helm. Chelsea seems to have a step ahead from their uncanny season last term though it is only the beginning stage of a ten month race. But at least a positive air is blowing in the dressing room.

This is all because Chelsea has regained their familiar way of playing football with attacking personnel like Pedro, Morata and Hazard all scoring. Plus there is an extra boost for underrated midfielders like Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic to step up once again in their most suited organization. That also means that the fullbacks are due to play a more attacking role in Sarri ball setup.

So do Aina possess a chance at Stamford Bridge? Well no. Unless Cesar Azpilicueta back paddles horridly, Ola has almost no reply. It is no guess work that Cesar is unchallenged in his role and why won’t he be? The Spaniard’s game reading prowess joined by agile drives and runs earn spectacles on the pitch, season after season. A pillar in his position, the right back captains the side since Terry’s departure, the band which he wears proudly. As thing stands, Sarri wants to allow Azpilicueta to get back to his attacking mind set and play pinpoint long balls to Morata and Hazard to open up defences, doing the best they can.  Also, Victor Moses is believed to renew his wing back role as Sarri spoke about his liking to see him at the position drafted by his predecessor, Antonio Conte. Though he won’t be a right back every time after all but still can be a pivotal character in Sarri’s attacking sequence.

Aina is off the contention ladder at the moment. Chelsea, with their terrible loan system, only some stars or rather fortunate players who became stars to field their best while staying at the club after a brief stint elsewhere. It is, of course, not for everyone and Aina come in that list. But one thing is for sure whether he would return or not, he will have this parody of loan spells to sustain his dream of having football in regular basis, blue in might not by jersey colour.

Chelsea’s terrible loan system is something which appears to be a black cloud over Blues’ much-vaunted academy. We’ve even seen the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek suffering by it before they got their shot at the top. Let’s see how this academy and it’s terrible loan system goes ahead in near future.
