Revealed: The Actual Reason Why Manchester United Failed To Sign This Star Player

Jose Mourinho

The Summer transfer window is now closed and now it is only the Winter break where the clubs may pursue new options to back the squad depth. Talking about Premier League, Manchester United are one of the cream zone sides who are not doing that well till now. United are staggering at number 10 with 6 points in 4 games so far. Maybe this is why the management seems to be shaken up a little and United are targeting some important winter signings. According to the rumours, United have targeted a fullback who has recently lifted up the World Cup. The Atletico guy Lucas Hernandez is in the radar and United may cash in for the versatile outfit guy.

The 22-year-old Frenchman has 13 international caps for his country. Hernandez has also made two competitive appearances for the La Liga side so far this season in the league and UEFA Super Cup.

The fullback joined Atletico’s youth set up when he was just 11 years of age. He had some quick up gradation then what made him this kind of capacity. He has racked up 90 first-team outings for the club overall. He had the UEFA Europa League last term and the UEFA Super Cup this campaign.

Being a FIFA World Cup winner with France earlier this summer in Russia, it was expected that Hernandez would definitely attract some real interest over Europe. The Red Devils are reported to be interested in landing the versatile defender incoming winter days. The young man can operate at full-back and centre-half as well whilst La Liga rivals Real Madrid have also been linked with his services. Though it seems that Atletico Madrid are not willing to set the defender to go away.

The player has already signed a new contract at Atletico earlier this summer which extends his stay at the Metropolitan of Madrid until June 2024. The deal or the agreement includes a £72m release clause.

However, reports nowadays are also suggesting his departure from Spain. The Club may agree to load off the talent if they find potential suitors with heavy offers. Atletico Madrid have already raised Lucas’ release clause value up to €150m (£135m).

If these latest reports are true, it would be another major blow for Jose Mourinho and this team who are suffering a hard time in the transfer market.
Manchester United have failed to add any of the defensive targets they have targeted so far this season and a disappointing start to the new campaign has left the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss under intense pressure.

Hernandez would have been an ideal addition to the United squad which is looking extremely thin now.

United will face Watford in an away game in the coming week after the international break due to Uefa Nation’s Cup. Then they will start their Champions League campaign against BSC Young Boys of Swiss League. Moreover, the staying of another World Cup winner in Old Trafford seems to be confidential. The 25-years-old midfielder Paul Pogba seems to leave England. When he was asked on the latest links to Barca, he said that he is playing at United at this moment, but no one knows that what may happen in the next few months.
