Wow! Can This Liverpool Legend Do Justice To This Club?

The Scottish league side Rangers returned to winning ways in the SPFL Premiership as they thrashed Dundee by a dominating 4-0 margin. It was Lassana Coulibaly, Ryan Kent, James Tavernier and Glenn Middleton who scored for the side and secured three valuable points against Neil McCann’s Dundee.

The Dark Blues arrived at Ibrox losing all their four league matches in 2018/19. They never looked like pumping back until Coulibaly netted his side’s opening goal from close range. In just four minutes played after the event, Kent doubled the advantage and opened his Rangers account. It was a terrific solo effort, where the club’s number 14 scored in the 14th minute. The game was effectively beyond the reach of the opposition before the half-time when Darren O’Dea brought Alfredo Morelos down in the box. It was a clumsy challenge and skipper James Tavernier made no mistake from the spot.

With Andy Halliday, Daniel Candeias and Coulibaly in the starting line-up, Rangers looked in the mood from the first whistle.  Dundee were really struggling to cope with the Light Blues’ attacking strategy in the early stages and Coulibaly certainly enjoyed his return in the field for Rangers. Despite this dominating win, news are flowing down that manager Steven Gerrard wants more from his boys. It is being reported that Gerrard has warned his boys that they need to sharpen up in the final third if they want to go to the next level. As the Ibrox boss said that they have got an important win with four goals and a clean sheet. Though according to the Liverpool legend it wasn’t a great performance yet. He said that it was good enough but they need to play better than that.

Gerrard confessed that they have to play with more control and he wants as many goals as they can get. The midfielder also said that he wants to create a team that is ruthless and relentless which they aren’t till yet.
Gerrard believes that they deserved more goals. As he said that he doesn’t just want to get a 3-0 lead and take the foot off the gas. He also said that if they want to be a successful team they have to beat it all the time.

He also seemed emotional in the press conference and apologised too. He also said that if he is sorry if he is not giving his players enough credit. He just wanted to be consistent and strong. The first half appeared like a basketball game yo him which he doesn’t wish to have at all. It was a pretty tough match for Miller who was once the skipper of Rangers too. His third Ibrox spell ended in the summer in acrimonious circumstances. The player got fined and he was suspended following a dressing room row with former manager Graeme Murty in April. After that he did not feature again for the club. However, Gerrard had encouraged the Rangers fans to show their appreciation for the 38-year-old but the striker’s match time would be cut short when he saw red for his tackle on Barisic.
