Confirmed: Why This Arsenal Star Made This Strange Career Choice

Reiss Nelson

Reiss Nelson is certainly one of the most talented young players in England right now. The young English footballer has taken a decision that is not much trending in English football right now. The English footballers always prefer to play in English Premier League or Championship throughout their whole career as the home grown players in England do have certain advantages over the players coming from other countries. Reiss Nelson has broken the trend just like his English National side’s partner Jadon Sancho who now plays for Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga. Sancho is now the highest assist provider in Bundesliga and Borussia Dortmund are playing a great football in this season in this season and Sancho is an integral part of this team.

Just like Sancho, Reiss Nelson is going to make his mark in Bundesliga in upcoming days. Till now, the young English footballer has made 3 appearances for Hoffenheim in Bundesliga and he has also scored two goals in those appearances. Reiss Nelson has also made one appearance in the Champions League as a substitute for the German side. The 18 year old Arsenal academy graduate has joined Hoffenheim in a season long loan deal till the end of this season.

Reiss Nelson told in an interview in the official website of FA that he was really confused about joining a new club at this stage of his career. But he has made up his mind when he has heard an offer is coming from the Bundesliga side Hoffenheim and the manager of the side is Nagelsmann. The young English footballer was really interested to play under the management of Nagelsmann and he clearly told it in the interview. It was certainly a tough decision for the young footballer to take in this age. But hopefully he has taken the right decision.

It was impossible for Reiss Nelson to break into the first team of Arsenal in this season. The likes of Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are also not getting regular chances for the Gunners in the Premier League matches under the management of Unai Emery. Unai Emery is trying to implement a new strategy in the Arsenal side. So, the players like Henrikh Mkhitaryan is getting regular chances in Europa League or League Cup games for the Gunners. Reiss Nelson was almost regular in the starting lineup of the Gunners in the Group Stage matches of Europa League and Carabao Cup matches. But in this season, Reiss Nelson will be in a much lower position in the pecking order under the management of the new manager of the Gunners, Unai Emery.

So,it might be a right decision taken by the 18 year old young English footballer to make a move to Germany in this season. On the other hand, Reiss Nelson knows that he has to perform well for Hoffenheim in this season to get regular chances under the management of Unai Emery at Arsenal in the next season. The young English footballer is determined to prove himself in Germany to break into the Starting XI of Arsenal in the next season.
