Shocking! North London Giants Complete For This High Quality Star

The two North London giants Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are currently in the race to sign MLS’ Atlanta United superstar Miguel Almiron in the upcoming winter transfer window. The two Premier League outfits are in the hunt for a top 4 spot as well and therefore want to build their respective squads to play in the Champions League next season.

Arsenal is currently going through a great spell at the moment having won 11 of their last 12 games in all competitions. Most recently, the Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw against stubborn London rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday. Although it wasn’t a defeat, Unai Emery has done exceedingly well after a rather poor start to Arsenal’s campaign. Losses to Chelsea and Manchester City in their opening two games of the season brought back unpleasant memories for Arsenal fans during the reign of manager Arsene Wenger.

The legendary Frenchman was in charge of the club for 24 years and won the Premier League three times as well as the FA Cup on seven occasions. But Emery has done a commendable job by breathing in a new life in the Arsenal squad. The Spaniard has gotten rid of the unwanted stock at the club and brought in new faces and Arsenal are on the up and up and currently 4th on the Premier League table.

Arsenal’s most hated rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also not too far behind from achieving that 4th spot as they sit just one point behind the Gunners in 5th place on the table. Having not purchased anyone in the summer transfer window, Spurs are looking to make a splash in the winter by signing some quality players who can help Mauricio Pochettino challenge for the Champions League berth. Spurs are currently in a tough spot with their new stadium coming up and the lack of transfer funds and Pochettino has done exceedingly well in keeping Spurs where they are at the moment.

The two Premier League outfits are now prepared to go head to head against each other in the fight to sign Paraguay international midfielder Miguel Almiron from the MLS in the January window. Arsenal has been dealt a setback in the form of Aaron Ramsey as the Welshman is not prepared to sign a contract extension at the Emirates stadium and Arsenal aren’t willing to negotiate with his wage demands. Therefore Arsenal are looking at alternatives and Almiron is one of them.

At Spurs, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli have been given too much of pressure to create and score as well and Almiron could be the player who eases that load or even provides competition for a starting role at Tottenham.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder was signed for a fee of just £6m back in 2016 but an impressive season for Atlanta United saw him score 12 goals and notch up 13 assists in the American league which made his value rise up to £20m. According to the latest reports, Spurs are winning the battle against Arsenal in the race to bring Almiron to the Premier League.
