After the departure of Andre Iniesta and failure of Paulinho in the midfield, Barcelona showed some serious interests on this Frenchman. The 23-years-old PSG midfielder, Adrien Rabiot is expressive and full of future potential. The midfielder is going to become a free agent at the end of the current season and it seems he has no shortage of admirers. According to the latest rumours, Liverpool have also entered the race and may cash in for the promising talent. Liverpool are reportedly having the upper hand on Barcelona in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot. The midfielder is reported to leave the French champions on a free at the end of the season as he has rejected offers to extend his stay in Paris. Liverpool are one of the heaviest sides to be linked with Rabiot as according to the Spanish media, the Reds have made a “powerful” offer for the midfielder in a bid to convince him to sign.
Liverpool have been interested in the 23-year-old but may face competition from Barcelona and Tottenham. Rabiot has done delicately well for Les Parisiens this season. He has scored two goals in 15 games as PSG sit top of Ligue 1 where the side is still unbeaten and won all of their opening twelve top-flight matches. The reports suggest that the Ligue 1 giants are eager to tie the France international down but, as things are standing now, a move away from the Parc des Princes is on the verge for the midfielder.
Liverpool have emerged as one of the potential suitors despite of spending out over £90m on the likes of Fabinho and Naby Keita last time.
Barcelona, though, on the other hand, are also interested despite having Arturo Vidal, Arthur Melo, Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Rafinha at their barrack. The Catalan Giants are aware of the Reds’ desire to sign the player. Though they feel that they are the favourites to have Rabiot, but in a stunning twist, it is claimed that Liverpool are not that far. Though the former Monaco guy Fabinho could play a part in any potential transfer. Liverpool signed him from Monaco back in the summer paying a fee of £42m and he is reportedly disillusioned with life at Anfield and keen to leave.
The French club also wanted him in the summer but Liverpool had the laugh. So if PSG decide to reignite their interest that may pave the way for Rabiot to join the Anfield. Along with Rabiot, Liverpool have been backed themselves to sign a striker to jostle with Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino for a starting berth.
However, a move to Anfield may trigger Fabinho to move the other way. It has been rumoured that the Liverpool midfielder is being “bored” in Merseyside after signing from Monaco in May. The 25-years-old midfielder has played just six times under Jurgen Klopp and has failed to cement his place in the starting XI. Rabiot could get featured against Liverpool when PSG host Liverpool in the Champions League on November 28.
