Nicolas Tagliafico is the recent name to be linked with a move to the Emirates stadium and Unai Emery has stated his displeasure at lack of proper back up options with Sead Kolasinac and veteran full back Nacho Monreal sidelined with injuries as a result the Spaniard was forced to play Switzerland international Granit Xhaxa at the left back position against Leicester City.
Unai Emery has adapted quite well to the premier league so far and Arsenal are being credited to play their beautiful brand of football impressively once again this season. The Gunners have won 10 games out of 10 for the first time since 2007. Despite a shaky start to the domestic league campaign Arsenal have shown great intent at closing down opposition with a beautiful style of play.
The Spaniard is now focusing on strengthening the defense with Bosnian international Sead Kolasinac having recurring injuries issues and an aging Nacho Monreal can’t offer much to the side by playing week in and week out and is also said to be out due to an hamstring injury, The Gunners are in the market for a long term solution and have seem to already found a target. Argentine international and Ajax left back Nicolas Tagliafico is heavily being tipped to make a move to the Emirates stadium in the winter market.
The Gunners have been said to already table an offer of £8m for the 26 year old Argentine international but they might just trigger a bidding war as fellow Premier league outfit Newcastle United are also monitoring the situation of defender, Rafa Benitez wanted to bring in the left back last summer and were even quoted to a mere sum of €4m by Independiente but the Magpies failed in their pursuit to bring him in due to the little time left in the transfer market and a few concerns regarding Moroccan international Achraf Lazaar’s departure.
Ajax then took advantage of the situation and bought Tagliafico for €4m from Argentine club Independiente in January 2018 and has since established himself as the clubs first choice left back and is also a regular name in La Albiceleste having featured in all the games in Russia. The 26 year old has a blistering start to the season as he has netted twice in the UEFA champions league this season with Ajax finding themselves on top of the table.
Arsenal could really add quality to their squad if they manage to get him in new year but the Dutch side will ask for more than they paid for the Argentine as they bought him this year and if they manage to qualify for the round of 16 in the UEFA champions league they might want to hold on to him as they currently do not possess a quality option to play in that position and are at risk of losing a couple of more quality players to European giants Barcelona but it might depend on the player if he wants to go there is only little the club can do.
