Croatia were able to get past Spain in the Group Stage match of the UEFA Nation’s League on Thursday. It was a great win in terms of Croatia as they would now face England on Sunday in this competition in the final Group Stage match. After this match, Spain remained at the top of the table in their Group as they collected 6 points in their 4 matches so far in this competition. Spain thrashed Croatia and England at their home; but they were beaten by England and Croatia in two away matches. This result will create a doubt of Spain’s qualification to the next round of the competition as Croatia and England both are situated at the same points now. Croatia and England have four points in their bag after three matches. The match between these two sides at Wembley on Sunday will decide the fate of this Group. If the match between England and Croatia end in a draw, Spain will qualify from this Group to the next round. While a win for either side will see them through to the next round. Luis Enrique will certainly not be happy with the performance of his team against Croatia. Sergio Roberto did a mistake at the 54th minute of the match. He tried to pass the ball towards Sergio Ramos ; but somehow it reached to Ivan Perisic. Ivan Perisic provided the ball towards Kramaric who made no mistake to put it into the Goal. Croatia took the early advantage in the match. Dani Ceballos equalised the scoreline for Spain at the 56th minute of the match from the pass provided by Isco. However, Tin Jedvaj took the lead for Croatia again at the 69th minute of the match as he perfectly met the cross provided by Luka Modric. Alvaro Morata came in for Spain in place of Iago Aspas. However, the Chelsea forward failed to head the ball in the open net as one of the defenders of Croatia saved it from Goalline. Spain got a penalty at the 78th minute of the match and Sergio Ramos converted it into Goal. Alvaro Morata again got an easy chance as he perfectly met the ball provided by Isco. This time the ball went to the Goal; but it was cancelled as the Spanish centre forward was in an offside position. The left back of Croatia Tin Jedvaj won the match for this side at the 93rd minute of the match. De Gea saved a shot ; but the ball reached to Tin Jedvaj who made no mistake to put it into the Goal at the dying minutes of the match. The result of the match will certainly question about the team selection of Luis Enrique. Inigo Martinez was in the starting lineup of Spain while the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta was in the bench. David De Gea’s days also should be numbered in Spanish National side as Kepa Arrizabalaga is waiting in the bench to come in place of him. Luis Enrique will surely look into these things in the next friendly match.
