The Italian champions have currently made Aaron Ramsey their top target in midfield as his contract gets over at the end of the season. The Bianconeri are interested in Ramsey but the Italian giants have more than one option for that position. Ramsey, 27, will have to finalize talks with the club quickly in January and get the deal done otherwise Juventus are also keen on looking elsewhere. Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has become the alternative to Ramsey as he will also be available for free at the end of this season and if the deal does not go through the Frenchman will be in pole position to sign for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
Juventus have gone ahead and made a whopping offer worth £200,000 per week over four years to lure the Welshman from Arsenal in seven months time. With interest from other big clubs across Europe like Bayern, Roma etc. but Juventus deal being the most tempting. Roma surely had their interest on the Welshman but were not ready to match Juventus’ offer for the 27-year old.
Ramsey has featured in all the Premier League matches for the Gunners this season though he has made only six starts under Unai Emery in the process. Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is a big admirer of the Welshman and believes that Ramsey has a knack of scoring consistently from central midfield which makes him a prime target for the Bianconeri. He believes that if Ramsey joins Juventus he will become a crucial player for them in midfield, and will also provide goal threat while playing in different positions in midfield.
Although if the deal does not go through the Bianconeri are smart enough to look forward to France where Adrien Rabiot is also out fo contract seeking a move elsewhere and with Juve’s star-studded lineup it will take a lot of convincing to end up elsewhere when Allegri himself is interested in the PSG man.
Allegri now faces a tough task of choosing which f the two midfielders he wants in his squad. Rabiot being four years younger than Ramsey and being available at the same price sounds like a great alternative for the Welshman. Both the midfielders are great options for the Italian though they have a different style of play, Rabiot is more physical and likes to be the deep-lying play-maker and cut passing lanes in the heart of midfield. His tall stature and physicality allow him to overpower rival midfielders and take control of the midfield for PSG. Ramsey, on the other hand, is a more direct and creative midfielder who can even play on the flanks if needed. His scoring rate has been better than some of the wingers and his consistency in the creative front can definitely hand him an upper hand among the two.
Adding to all this transfer saga the Serie A record winners are also linked with Spurs midfielder Moussa Dembele. Although playing him alongside the impressive trio of Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and Rodrigo Bentancur seem unlikely. Allegri will either go with Aaron Ramsey as the Italian giants offering a great deal for the Welshman or else they may take the alternative way to secure the services of Paris Saint Germain man Adrien Rabiot.
Latest Update
After the recent 4-2 win over Spurs, the fans and Emery will have seen that the Welshman is a huge asset to the team and should get a contract extension. Whether the board now agrees with the popular opinion or not, remains to be seen. However, if Ramsey does leave, it will surely be a huge loss for the club.
