Toulouse starlet Adil Taoui might be on his way to the Premier League this January with top English clubs lining up to sign the 17-year old French Youth International. Taoui has been on the radar for some time now and with rave reviews in France, teams are eager to tie him down to a big term deal. According to Foot Mercato teams like Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester City can be the next destination for the young French forward. Toulouse have claimed that the 17-year old youngster is open to moving away from France but they have set a price tag of £4.5m. The 17-year old sensation has found the net two times for the U-19 side and has also scored three times for the French U-16 team.
Although his stunning form has not allowed him yet to make the first team under their current gaffer Alain Casanova. Taoui is contracted with the club till 2021 and Toulouse are in no hurry to let the youngster leave Stade Municipal.
Tottenham look confident to tie up the forward to a long-term deal and if they make the move now it may be beneficial for Mauricio Pochettino’s men. Whereas the Lilywhites are also in contention to sign Hoffenheim Nadiem Amiri in which they will have to battle with eternal rivals Arsenal to secure his signature. So it can be a long and busy winter transfer window for Tottenham and Pochettino. Manchester City who are also interested in Adil Taoui, also have Lyon striker Maxwell Cornet as one of their targets.
Pep Guardiola likes to take risks with his transfers at times but if this question arises then the Spaniard will definitely look to bring in Cornet as he is more experienced and established player and is likely to handle the pressure of the Premier League with grace. Cornet also fared out pretty well when Manchester city and Lyon met at the Champions League and the young Frenchman scored a brace against the Citizens impressing their Spanish gaffer. Although with added interest on City’s Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid may open up space for Taoui. The 19-year old is out of contract at Manchester City and is frustrated with the lack of first team football at the Etihad.
So a move to Real Madrid look to be on the cards for Brahim Diaz. Although Pep Guardiola does not want Diaz to leave Manchester City but he admits that he won’t stop the 19-year from leaving the club this January or in future. Real Madrid obviously feels that they should capitalize on a talent like Brahim Diaz after they missed out on Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund. The move turned out to be a successful one for Dortmund looking at Sancho’s performances for the German giants.
Hence, Real Madrid will hope they secure the signature of the young Spaniard as he has fallen down the pecking order for the reigning Premier League champions. Diaz’s move to Real Madrid may just open up space for French young sensation at the Etihad after Pep Guardiola was intrigued by the youngster’s impressive performances. Considering the scout reports from France Taoui can be a real gem and one for the future at Manchester City.
