Ray Parlour Makes This Statement About The Future Of Aaron Ramsey And Mesut Ozil At Arsenal

High flying Arsenal are on a 20 game unbeaten streak under the tutelage of their new manager Unai Emery. The recent fixture against Manchester United ended in a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, with the away team which always seemed like bagging all three points.

Unai Emery’s tactical masterclass have also inspired them to a historic North London Derby win over Tottenham Hotspurs 4-2 with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scoring twice and the likes of Alexandre Lacazaette and Lucas Torreira bagged one each. It was a tremendous comeback from Gunners as despite taking the lead they were pegged down by two quick goals from Spurs as the score at halftime was 1-2 in favour of Mauricio Pochettino and his men.

The Spanish tactician shockingly left out Mesut Ozil in the derby due to a back injury. However, he did the same thing against Bournemouth where the German play-maker was absolutely fit. When asked about the exclusion he said the physical presence of the opponents were too much for the 27-year old to handle and hence he decided otherwise.

Aaron Ramsey who is reportedly leaving the club in the near future featured in the high voltage game and did put an immediate shift on the attacking players. It was the Welshman who took charge of thing in midfield at the creative front and the move led the Gunners to a historic comeback against rivals Tottenham at home.

Although the Welshman did start their following fixture against Manchester United at the Old Trafford where both he side shared spoils of a 2-2 draw, Ramsey was one of the Arsenal players who picked up an injury in the game and was subbed off by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Despite his impressive approach for the club and his much-lauded performances, the Welshman is leaving the club after both the parties failed to reach an agreement on a new contract.

Arsenal Legend Ray Parlour though feels the matter very differently and thinks that Ramsey still got a lot of things to offer to the club and can have a very important role to play if he decides to stay at the Emirates.

Parlour, also known as the Romford Pele went on picking the Welshman above Mesut Ozil who he feels does not put the same shift as Ramsey does and the 27-year old can be more valuable to the club at the moment than the German international.

Right after the North London derby, he said, “We didn’t miss him yesterday, whereas I thought Ramsey made an impact in the second half.”

The former England footballer also added Ramsey’s importance and highlighted his experience which is very promising in a youthful squad which Emery is building.

“Aaron has been there a long time, he’s been there for ten years, so you’ve got to look that as well.”

Arsenal fans on the other fan has supported the former Gunner with all their might and came out on Twitter to voice their support for the Welshman over the German international. Some fans feel they Ramsey puts his heart and soul for the team and always gives his 100% on the field whereas Ozil sometimes struggles to get going and becomes very inconsistent. One of the fans bashed the German for his inconsistency as sometimes the team looks like they are playing with 10 men.

Parlour also highlighted the fact that Ramsey’s departure is almost inevitable, yet the central midfielder is full of dedication every time he steps on the field donning the Arsenal jersey.

Some players would sulk and say, “I’m leaving at the end of the season, so it doesn’t really matter”, but his attitude has been spot on.

“He knows he’s leaving at the end of the season, but he was brilliant in mid-week in the Europa League. I would rather have Aaron Ramsey.”

Arsenal have been performing exceptionally under Unai Emery and it has happened mostly without Mesut Ozil which will definitely come as a surprise to most of the fans and some may also come to the conclusion that the Gunners are better off Ozil in the long run.

Who do you think should stay at Arsenal, Ramsey or Ozil?
